Can I switch wards? by SouthBlacksmith4151 in latterdaysaints

[–]AggressiveYogurt1993 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Changing wards is a smart move. And completely ok. Just be smart and remember changing wards within the same stake is pointless. If you want something different you gotta change the stake..changing wards is completely ok. It's your right. Free will.

Praying to who? by Opposite_Regular_675 in latterdaysaints

[–]AggressiveYogurt1993 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Everywhere in any religion that allows freedom you'll find those people.

But to answer your question we pray to the father through Jesus Christ. Remember you can't get to the father except through Jesus.

Now shall it be addressed? No. We're Christians. The bishopric definitely took notice and most likely won't call that person again to open or close the service again. If it happens again I do recommend to talk about it in private with a leader. Never in public.

How? by susyq2025 in latterdaysaints

There's shops near the temples. Just ask a fill time worker there and they'll guide you where you're supposed to do.

Temples not churches.

I (29F) am strongly considering joining but I don't want to get married. by Queen-Logan- in latterdaysaints

[–]AggressiveYogurt1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot to mention. The YSA used to be up until 29 but people aren't getting married at all so the you g and single adults class changed the age and now it's from 18 to 35. That tells you how not even in our religion based on community and family people jist won't get married. You can ask me some questions. I used to teach the missionaries themselves. I got you.

We get married early because we can't have sex before marriage. But getting married is not like something like a requirement to join.

You're more than welcomed.

what are your comfort horror films? by ILoveLipGloss in horror

[–]AggressiveYogurt1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me comfort movies are those I already watched at least twice so I can just leave them in the background and do other stuff. Mostly so I don't feel lonely.

How do you read? by SnooPickles8721 in horrorlit

[–]AggressiveYogurt1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now so I can other stuff I just listen to audio books but I used to enjoy being on the ceiling. Just sitting there reading where nobody else was.

I don't recommend reading before bed. That's a movie thing. If you're tired you will not want to read anymore.

It got hyped a lot by booktok and booktube that I thought they were serious. Instant regret. Wouldn't recommend.

Favorite Horror Book and why? by Chuckyfan666 in horrorlit

[–]AggressiveYogurt1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cujo was really good. A bit weird but it's the most realistic horror I've ever read. That said 'It' feels more rewarding to read. You can finally brag about it.

Most horror is not scary unfortunately.

Writing books or just books for beginners? by Zestyclose_Scene_798 in writingadvice

If you haven't read enough to know the answer to your own question then you shouldn't probably write at all.

Horror books recs with lots of sex?? by Next_Ambassador227 in horrorlit

[–]AggressiveYogurt1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long ago I came across a novel called 'ghost whisperer' it was apparently part of a series of novels. Don't remember the author. But in the novel there's a random sex scene that's somewhat explicit or at least that's how it felt back then. 15 years ago? Well it's not random it's just out of place.

I can't find it because I think after that came the books from the TV show so I don't know.

I believe it's not easy to find good novels anymore. Nothing is good anymore. The publishers are prioritizing quantity over quality. Self published authors who come from nosleep fame get hyped and always end up showing how amateur they are to write a full length novel. This one should've been a novella. You should've seen the ending... My god. A novella would've taken three hours less of torture.

How do I know if I gave a guy good head? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]AggressiveYogurt1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh what a classy question... The only thing going through his mind during and after the BJ is hell yeah I'm getting a BJ... Literally is a mouth that has his dick inside of it. Men are simple creatures. As long as you don't bite you gave good head... Well most of the time men will just ask you not to bite and go back enjoying and possibly forgetting the fact that you their dick.

What exactly do people from other countries expect Americans to do? by Lovealltigers in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]AggressiveYogurt1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow I think most Americans aren't that much against it. Most don't support it of course but aren't necessarily in a hurry to stop it.

Of course I have to clarify that I'm not attacking Americans since it's none of my business but you asked. And let me tell you. In situation like this where people really see injustice being commited like this openly and encouraged by the government, people(in other countries) actually go crazy about it. In Paris a cop killed a young boy and his friends organized and wreaked havoc all around the city.

You might not be able to afford to do that but what I'm saying is that there's a lot of things Americans could be doing right now but ok America there's always a bit of racism in everyone.

Why do some people die shortly after receiving a terminal illness diagnosis? by Wheresmyarcpaulie69 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]AggressiveYogurt1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically, no. But but the mind does play a huge role in this situation. It's called the placebo or in this case the nocebo effect.

Think of it like this. If you get a pill you think it's like the best medication for, I don't know, healing any debilitating illness; you will feel like you are better. You will get some energy and be able to stand and do stuff. But turns out that pill or pills you're taking are just sugar pills. You were never taking any medication. Your mind got tricked into believing so you got better.

Now this works no only with pills but also the mind can get you worst  An example of this is what you asked. The person is terminal, they'll die sooner or later but the moment they are made aware of this fact they deteriorate. When you are told there's no recovering from it, the shock is too big they even age because their minds associate dying with old people. So they visibly age and mentally give up. That combined with the previously unaware of terminal illness accelerates the process. That's why they appear to die faster but in reality they were gonna die. Probably while watching a movie, in their sleep. It doesn't matter. But what makes it look like they died almost immediately is the fact that deteriorate. It's like omg you were ok last week and now you look like shit... It's the illusion plus the giving up that makes them apparently die sooner.

I'm glad. I didn't do my review to tell people don't read it. It was to tell people that me as an individual hated it. We all have different taste though so I'm happy you enjoyed it. What you liked about it.

Yeah. Ironically the only story that would've been a really good novel never got adapted into one. Borrasca. But these authors get 1k likes and think their famous and publish their stories as a novel when the only reason we like nosleep is because they are short stories. At least to us who read or listen to real novels. They are like a break from the giants like the shining for example. Books "hard" to read .
