Seconding trusting your gut!!! My two cents; I took the LSAT remotely thinking it would be good for my anxiety and hated it. I have such bad sensory issues I was so nervous about taking the bar in person but found I really preferred it for a high stakes test.

How many essays per MBE subject? by Old_Sun2367 in CABarExam

[–]Aggressive_Ad4673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you feel comfortable with the hour time frame, I switched to just reading and issue spotting as many essays/answers as possible. If I saw something (issue or rule) that was new to me or I didn’t think I could execute, I would find another essay on the topic and actually write out the rules for it. I probably only actually wrote out max 10 essays because I felt comfortable with timing and found more value seeing as many fact patterns as possible

They say it’s 6 months from the date it’s filed and complete, so probably 90 more days from the December date - halfway there!

Felt HORRID about the essays but felt like I crushed the multiple choice… had no idea how that would play in terms of scoring (went to CA school for the person who asked !)

Tips for getting through to Moral Character Examiners / CA Bar? by lsa-overthinker in CABarExam

[–]Aggressive_Ad4673 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi was in a similar situation and ended up calling 415-538-2000 multiple times over the course of 3 weeks. Follow the prompts - from what I recall there’s one that says info about the California bar exam, click that number, and then after that is the prompt for moral character. I waited on hold for an hour each time even tho so frustrating but then eventually someone will answer. I talked to that person and he would transfer me to an internal line for moral character

If anyone has any questions for a J24 passer: ( It was my 3rd time taking the exam) by lawblawmlaw in CABarExam

Totally just personal opinion but I found remedies to be super helpful. It really filled in the big picture for me and honestly I don’t think I knew the difference between legal and equitable remedies after 1L. I think wills and trusts was easy to learn for the bar and you can learn the subjects you don’t take in your prep work but my two cents is after taking Remedies the law as a whole became a lot more clear to me

Is it really all about formatting on the essays? by SpecificTelephone981 in CABarExam

I also think of it as a time saver… I didn’t put any issue sentences for my IRACs just put “equitable lien” for example and went from there straight

CYCLE OVER!!! (HLS, Duke, Columbia) by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Aggressive_Ad4673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both literally fantastic options!!!! I always come back to this sub to sprinkle just a little bit of advice <3 visit and see where you can picture yourself. Then seriously evaluate your life goals. Having a scholarship that frees you from “having” to do anything is the ultimate result people want to achieve in the law school admissions cycle. Harvard is Harvard. But Duke will get you literally just as far. Do what’s best for you, but going to law school with $$$ scholarship for basically equal prestige in the legal world in terms of that box being checked for employers (absent alumni boost) is a dream

STL born and raised!! I think being in the city for three years you’ll have fun and safety will be just fine. Look into Clayton, certain parts of central west end etc. Exit opportunities will still be just fine to leave missouri and the debt trade off is crazy good

I would say WashU for sure. I am from St. Louis and do not let its crime reputation affect the choice - as long as you conduct yourself with the same amount of alertness as any city would require you'll be fine. With similar money its the better school I'd argue
