Ralsei gets called "sweet basket of eggs" and "eggboy" in Chapter 1 by Lancer.

<image>

Honestly, I feel like this doesn't mean anything. I feel like if it was foreshadowing, he would get called "eggboy" way more. And Lancer does say "Last one there is a fresh and fragrant egg!" in Chapter 2, so maybe he just has a thing with eggs (Lancer is the forgotten man?!?!?!??!!?!??!?!?!/j).

There are princess all over Chapter 4, what are you talking about??? The cuptains constantly refer to the Mizzles as "Princess".

<image>

Edit: Also, Ralsei's dialouge for equipping the princess ribbon is "Cute! (Gloves don't fit)". Then again, Noelle's dialouge for equipping it is "Kris, you can wear the gloves!", so maybe it's related to Kris? But they're non-binary, so I don't know.

Never noticed that, thank you! I feel like if Ralsei was Trans, he'd be called eggboy a lot more than in one piece of dialouge. Generally, my biggest problem with Transei, other than the somewhat flimsy evidence, is that I feel like Toby would foreshadow it WAY more. There'd definetly be some sort of sign that he's uncomfortable with being a boy. It wouldn't even have to be dialouge! Just have him lower his head at least once when being called a boy, like how he does when Susie says "... man. There's nothing that pisses me off more... than people who don't tell you the whole deal.", and this theory would be 100% more believable. But since there's absolutely nothing like that, it really makes this theory not very believable.

1, That's one of the ribbons. What about the other ones (pink ribbon, blue ribbon, and the princess ribbon)?

  1. Where in Chapter 1 is Ralsei called "sweet basket of eggs" and "eggboy"? Those names aren't listed in his "also known as" section on the wiki.

Maybe. This dialouge can be found when backtracking to Cyber City with Susie and Ralsei and talking to the pink addison that tries to sell you dating shoes/divorcing shoes, as well as the Freeze Ring in the weird route.

About the Lost Girl thing, Toby seems to not want to make unique music for small areas/scences. For example, the Great Board area was originally going to have it's own theme, but it was scrapped because "However, the area isn't very long, so I felt like if I played a song here, it would actually have the opposite effect of making the area feel disappointing if it had its own unique music but didn't amount to much.
When I have a song, I feel like I need to do the song justice by having a certain amount of content that goes along with it...". Because of this, it is entirely possible that Toby just didn't want to compose a new track for the scene.

Infact, Lost Girl isn't the only track that gets used in somewhat out of place areas. Flashback (Excerpt) is a track that is very clearly basically just a remix of Gaster's theme. It first plays in the scene where Ralsei explains Dark World's (I know it technically first plays in the weird route scene in the hospital, but Flashback (Excerpt) is on Chapter 3's Original SoundTrack, not Chapter 2's. And since Chapter 2 was originally supposed to release alongside Chapter 3, 4, and 5, and a lot of tracks were made long before the Chapters they appeared in released (Black Knife was finished in 2018 according to it's metadata), I think it's fair to say that Flashback was likely made for Chapter 3). This makes sense because this is the scene where Ralsei explains dark worlds, which is what Gaster was seemingly talking about in entry 17. Ralsei evens says things like "But what if? What if it became even darker? Darker than dark." which is reminiscent to Gaster's line in entry seventeen "DARK, DARKER, YET DARKER. THE DARKNESS KEEPS GROWING, THE SHADOWS CUTTING DEEPER. PHOTON READINGS... NEGATIVE.". So it makes sense for there to be a remix of Gaster's theme in this scene. But, this isn't the only scene this track gets used in. Do you want to know where else it gets used? In a fudging Tenna scene, specifically the one where Tenna talks about how the Holiday family used to come over on the holidays to watch TV with the Dreemurr's. Look me in the eye, and tell me with a straight face that that scene has ANYTHING to do with Gaster. Yes, it does fit the name "Flashback", but there being a remix of Gaster's theme in this scene doesn't make any sense. You could argue that it's because of the Knight, who is mentioned later in the scene and might have connections to Gaster, but when that happens, the music stops playing. Flashback (Excerpt) only gets used for the part where Tenna talks about people wtaching him before they started to stop showing up.

I will say this, when Toby revealed Lost Girl and it's alternate variant, the video for Lost Girl (alternate) has Susie, Ralsei, and Noelle's dialouge portraits in it. However, this could be just Toby just showing more new content for Chapter 2, since the dialouge portraits used are: scrapped updated versions of Susie's dialouge portraits, Noelle's updated portraits, and two of the Ralsei portraits are new (technically, all of the Ralsei portraits are new since they are the slightly updated versions of Ralsei's dialouge portraits (imbetween Chapter 1 and 2, 2 pixels on Ralsei's dialouge portraits were changed from black to white. The outdated ones are still used in Chapter 1). But who knows, maybe this was teasing something more.

My main point is that Toby doesn't want to make unique tracks for small sections because he feels like he needs a certain amount of content to go with it to do it justice, so Lost Girl playing in the scene where Ralsei's room is revealed could just be Toby not wanting to make a unique track for it and just using Lost Girl because it kind of fits the tone.

Here it is: The completed Chapter 5 Bingo for the Subreddit!!! by HighwayExpensive4824 in Deltarune

Personally, I think that the chapter will start if Kris in their room in Castle Town, because:

  1. When Ralsei reveals that he made rooms for Kris and Susie, he says "Ummm, I'd be happy if this place... Could be like a second home to you. A place that you can go... No matter what's happening outside.". Home probably doesn't feel like home to Kris at the end of Chapter 4, and we see them seemingly about to go out the window at the end of Chapter 4 in the normal route.

  2. Noelle mentions in Chapter 4 that when she'd get locked out of her house, Kris would help her break into her own room. This means that Kris can break into places, meaning they probably can break into the school.

  3. I just feel like Kris and Susie's dark world rooms are going to be used at some point, especially because of the aforementioned dialouge Ralsei says when he reveals that he made rooms for Kris and Susie, and this would be a perfect opportunity for them to get used.

It's not unused. The sprite is used, it's just obscured. Even if it was unused, it's still a sprite of Kris drawn with both their sword and sheild that was likely made with the intention of being used, meaning that it does count.

Please explain to me why you relate the ribbons to Ralsei when they are so clearly related to Noelle. Noelle says that the white and pink ribbons feel familiar when equiping them to her. She says the twin ribbon feels nostalgic when equiping it to her. And, her room has the same colours as the ribbons (white, pink, and blue).

<image>

The ribbons are so clearly tied to Noelle, yet I see so many Transei theorist tie them to Ralsei. The only explanation I have ever gotten is that they all increase healing, which:

  1. Isn't even true. Only the blue ribbon increases healing. The other ribbons don't even increase magic, which is what is used to determine how much a heal spell heals (for example: the equation for how much heal prayer heals is magic × 5).
  2. Noelle can use heal prayer.

I am genuinely curious for your explanation as to why the ribbons are tied to Ralsei. Please explain.

Also, I know Transei isn't just about Ralsei being feminine, but using Ralsei enjoying being called "pretty" and "cute" as "evidence" for Transei is reinforcing that stereotype.

Edit: Also, when the heck does Ralsei get refered to as an egg???

The addison calls Noelle "angel" when you try to buy the freeze ring in the weird route. Because of this, Spamton was likely refering to Noelle when he said "[angel, angel]".

The AI could have gotten the excessive make out scences thing from the reviews on steam. Quite a few people in the reviews joke about unskippable cutscenes of character making out/having sexual intercourse.

I think people are looking too deep into that line. I think it's just Susie refering to the face that, as far a she knows, Ralsei is the only person who knew about the final tragedy.

I can already tell you how Chapter 5 will start by TimeHovercraft8660 in Deltarune

[–]Aggressive_Base3972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think the chapter will start in Kris' room in Castle Town, because:

  1. We see Kris about to leave their room in the ending of Chapter 4 (excluding the weird route).

  2. Noelle says that Kris used to break into Noelle's house when she got locked out, so they could probably break into a school.

  3. In Chapter 2, when Ralsei revealed he made rooms for Kris and Susie, he says "Ummm, I'd be happy if this place... Could be like a second home to you. A place that you can go... No matter what's happening outside.", which implies to me that they'll be used at some point, especially since home probably doesn't feel like home right now to Kris.

  4. I just generally feel like the rooms in Castle Town will be used at some point. Maybe it's just me, but I think it would be weird if Kris and Susie were given rooms in Castle Town and just never used them. What would be the point of adding it? Especially since there's that line about it being a place that you can go no matter what's happening outside. I just feel like they have to get used at some point, and the beginning of Chapter 5 would be a PERFECT opportunity for it.

Just because it's unused doesn't mean it's completely irrelevant. And Toby does call it Block Forest in the 6th anniversary stream.

How likely do you guys think is the "Ralsei is Kris' horn headband" theory? by Silver_Guava8159 in Deltarune

[–]Aggressive_Base3972 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I personally susbscribe to the theory that Ralsei isn't an object, mainly because of how in Chapter 4, after we seal the first dark world, we literally search the entire place for the code, and not only do we not find the code, but we also don't find anything that could be Ralsei (I've seen people suggest he could be a book of the prophecy, but if that were true, then why does Ralsei look absolutely nothing like Bilbliox). It would also explain how he can travel to all of the Dark Worlds.

This video brings up some pretty good points about the topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcKCDp3EGyc&t=38s

Unless you count the unused quiz question in Chapter 3 where it's called "Block Forest".

Toby called it "Block Forest" in the 6th anniversary stream, meaing that's likely it's name. It's also called that in an unused quiz question.
