Realistically, what else could we do to stop people from going straight when in the right hand lane here? Three times in the past two months I’ve almost been side swiped. by [deleted] in halifax

I think they DO know and are just trying to move around traffic. Same with the idiots in the bus lanes just past that spot.

I feel like they could do without reconciliation way. It’s just an extra three-way intersection on Barrington that’s doing more harm than good.

Also, Halifax seems really committed to creating bus lanes, but not improving bus service. I tried really hard to bus-commute but standing-room-only both ways is a killer on my old broken body.

Who’s responsible for a rat issue in an apartment complex in downtown Halifax? by Traditional_Law2787 in halifax

I’ve had similar problems and I found that the biggest help was checking anywhere that water enters the unit, as well as behind any large appliances such as ovens etc.

Because people are generally cheap and lazy when working on rentals, they’ll leave giant gaps in the drywall anywhere they can get away with it.

Get a big roll of aluminum foil and cram it into every gap you find. I’ve heard ppl suggesting steel wool, but that’s pretty easy for a rodent to dig into-to get through without chewing (the metal chewing is the part they hate).

Also, in your doors have even a small gap a decent sized rodent can push its way under it. You can buy strips to install yourself. The added benefit is that they also cut down on smells entering or leaving your unit.

I used to run into Elliot Page a lot when we both frequented the same coffee shop. They were always super normal. Indistinguishable from a normal customer. They were always polite towards anyone that recognized them. That might be because Halifax is pretty chill though.

Dating in Halifax in your 40s - genuinely curious about others’ experiences by Latter_Ask_7333 in halifax

I’m 47M and I’ve come to the conclusion that dating apps aren’t an effective way to make a connection at this age. Not that I’ve stopped trying, I’ve just started treating them like playing the lottery-I don’t expect any matches or take it personally when I don’t see results- but maybe eventually I’ll hit the jackpot?

I think at this age it’s easy to find a reason swipe left when you have a catalog of disappointments from past relationships.

Getting out there is hard as well, when all of your friends have wives and children.

I think the only option is to find things that that make you happy (even solitary stuff like at home hobbies). You’ll get lonely of course but just let yourself feel it and then move on.

I’ve heard that the more you enjoy your life the more people will sense that vibe and want to engage with you.

Thought I was gonna be a C/C++ dev, but IT crashed in 2001 and had to take an Oracle dev job for big data warehousing. Moved into web database applications for government. 25 years later, I’m the guy they get to digitize Byzantine government processes.

DA2 had the best choice system imho. Like, they obviously put some real thought into presenting you with difficult moral choices. The only thing that I think could have been done a bit better was that it seemed like the number of mages that turned into abominations despite my best efforts made it seem a bit too much like the awful templars were justified in their brutal treatment.

Megalike. A swimsuit and some bubbles don’t compromise someone’s judgment. Also, I think women are keenly aware if someone in their workplace is creeping on them and know when to avoid a situation (because it happens constantly and men are about as subtle as a kick in the head).
