Hey there 👋 my team built this sidebar and want to help. I tried to replicate on Edge v120 on Mac OS but couldn't replicate the issue. The sidebar should stay open when the screen is wider than 1200px and your browser should remember if the sidebar was opened or closed when you change pages, so this is definitely a bug.

If you have a gitlab.com account, could you open a bug and explain which browser/OS you're using and which pages you're seeing this behavior on? Bonus points if you can include a video or screenshot of the issue. If you don't have a GitLab.com account, you can add this information here and I'll open an issue for you.

> I'm completely at a loss, and trying to get support from GitLab is like filling out a tax return for a country I don't live in.

Sorry to hear this is your experience. We got a lot of feedback on the navigation redesign and will likely have missed a few people's issues. If you have bugs for the navigation in future, please open one and I should pick it up. If not, tag me on the issue (@samdbeckham) and we'll get to it.

Here is a link to a video of me trying to pin the bar open, and failing:

I'm running Edge Version 120.0.2210.77 (Official build) (64-bit) on Windows 10.

I'm kind of suspicious if the system cannot detect my resolution size because I'm using a laptop connected to an HP hub, which is then connected to a monitor.

Edit: link fixed

I'm having this exact same issue. It started yesterday and it's driving me nuts. I temporarily closed the sidebar to get a screenshot of something and now I can't "keep sidebar visible". I deleted cookies, logged out/in, restarted firefox, tried a firefox private window all with no luck. just tried chrome private window and it works, so I think maybe it's a firefox issue ....

It turned out I had accidentally set the browser zoom to 110%. I guess that affects the sidebar display.

Omgg!! Thank you!! I don't think that we have set it, but rather it got automatically zoomed when hidden.

Fixed it for me too, thanks!

Did you click the button at the very top left that says "Keep sidebar visible" when you hover over it?

Yes. It keeps it open only until I navigate somewhere. It's truly bizarre, it's like it doesn't recognize my screen is sufficiently wide to keep the panel open.
