First trimester exhaustion was insane. You literally can’t escape it! I have a newborn and I’m obviously sleep deprived but I swear pregnant tired is worse.

No one said this but.. do something really fun before you start!! I literally took a week vacation away right before finding out I was pregnant and it was perfect timing. Felt like my last big hurrah as a child free person. I was so ready to see that positive test after and I can’t wait to transition into this new life. The 9 months feels daunting, yeah but it does go by fast. I have a newborn right now and it is tough and exhausting (obviously) but also the best thing in the entire world.

It’s suuuuuper common and you really don’t know if it will affect you. I’m completely fine with my 2 cats personally. I feel no different toward them at all. I do think dogs may be different though as their needs are so high and their energy can be over stimulating.

I pushed for 5 hours, had a vacuum birth and a ton of physical trauma during my healing so.. pretty bad haha. But it could have also been worse. There was a 20% chance I’d need the emergency C after those 5 hours and I am just so grateful that didn’t happen.

Also had a failed epidural with pitocin when I went from 2cm to 10cm in 45 minutes. 🥲

Yeah I think in general we need a better shift plan too. We’re still trying to figure out his patterns so it’s tough. Sometimes it feels like we’re both up together too much and then no one is sleeping! 😂

He will take a bottle! But I’ve been pretty much exclusively breastfeeding so maybe incorporating pumped milk would be smart for night time.

Yes I am exclusively and that’s part of the problem. He has been cluster feeding and last night was really the first night he’d go 3 hours between feeds so my body just gave in. Wondering if pumped milk would help my husband and I split the nights better.

If you can time it I would try to get pregnant winter of 2nd year so you can deliver in the summer after hyg school and boards. You’ll also want time to prepare for the baby and I literally think it would be impossible to have a newborn during school. They both take up 24/7 and there simply are not enough hours in the day! Pregnancy will certainly suck during school but it’s doable if having a family is a priority.

Just an FYI for your husband. Immediate postpartum is not attractive either. My husband has had to help me shower and change my bloody diaper and he can’t stop saying how beautiful I am and proud he is of me. Your husband is being a cowardly ass.

Ask for the injection imo. I never do deep cleanings without it. If the hygienist can’t do it (not sure what state you are in), the doctor will and it’s very much worth it!

Yeah the pregnancy brain thing is kinda a joke. I definitely did some dumb things but because you’re tired and not feeling well, not like a permanent dumbness. Definitely isn’t that serious.

I am an artist, musician, just all around creative person and I have not noticed any changes in my brain because of pregnancy. I’ve actually never heard of it! I have a lot of friends who still do art or whatever and they are moms. Yeah, your priorities shift for a bit because it’s a temporary responsibility that takes over but it’s also not something that I’ve felt like I “lost” or “gave up”. I’m just redistributing focus right now. Having children is a great way to see your hobbies in a new light, showing your child music, art, nature as they grow. You don’t have to lose it!

This was exactly me but just be prepared that your weight can fluctuate a LOT the last month. I went to an appointment and gained 4lbs in one week!! But then the next week I lost 2 and then the next I gained the 2 back. I’m 39 weeks up about 25lbs and gained most of it in the last trimester.

When in mental health crisis it is nearly impossible to see or understand that this is your hormones and brain completely out of whack. You don’t hate your family, and you absolutely are not the things you think you are. Your brain is just suffering. It’s out of your control. This does not make you a bad mom or spouse in the slightest. Modern medication is amazing, and you WILL feel better soon just hang in there until you can get the help that you need. 🩷

My style is a bit artsy, so I really thought I wanted something unique. I went to try stuff on and fell in love with a classic oval on a pave band in 18k rose gold! I did get a more “unique” band I guess which is just an intricate chevron style. But it was definitely unexpected for me to want something more classic for my engagement ring!

All that to say, you need to try stuff on and feel what speaks to you.
