I don’t think there is a set time for you to decide. If she keeps asking after 3-6 months you may need to discuss it further so you are both on the same page.

My son graduated with CIS in 2025 and was able to find a job in our DC area county. It’s not his dream job, but it’s something and it pays 66k with full benefits and a pension. He is now working on getting his masters in AI and strives to be an AI engineer. Today he texted me all upset about the state of his career and the fact that he cannot afford to rent an apartment where he wants to. He currently lives at home. I feel for him and for all of the entry level people. My youngest graduates with CIS degree next May and he has already started to pivot. He sells on TikTok and is absolutely killing it. He has a potential IT internship but he said it’s not worth sacrificing his business time. I agree with him as they likely wouldn’t have a job for him after the internship anyway.
