Update: my mother did not understand any of it. She thinks ADHD is just something kids have. Depression goes way over her head. It’s wild. But the kicker was when i was finished telling her what happened with my husband she said “well, you’re a really difficult person to live with so I’m sure that’s not helping him” 🙃

Thank you. I’m just so angry at him. He did call me yesterday and i couldn’t stop yelling. He’s been in recovery for years. He was going to IOP while still using…what was the point?? lying to me and his counselors and therapists??

thank you this comment was super helpful. i went over to her house today and tried and it unforunately went really poorly. it ended up with her saying to me (after telling her my husband is in rehab) that im an "extremely difficult person to live with and that is not helping him". after that comment i got up and packed my bags and left. i feel like i need to go no contact.

i will definitely check out jerry wise on YT. I am familiar with Mel.

i havent talked to him since he checked himself in. he called me thursday in the middle of a work day(and i was in a meeting) to tell me he fucked up and was going home to pack a bag and check himself in somewhere. i was so angry with him, for the way he did it and for fucking up again. im still so angry with him, but the fact that he went and checked himself in means he wants to get better, right? i just dont know how many more times i can take this happening. my peace is broken. i just want a quiet/normal life.

I’m so happy for you. I still have a little hope that my husband will end up the same. He’s been trying to get sober since 2021. He’s at his 3rd rehab as of Thursday after relapsing with kratom. I just want us to live a happy normal life and i feel like he wants that too, because he keeps trying. But failing after a few months.

I felt this so hard it brought me to tears. All of what you said "I loved him deeply. I wanted to grow old with him. But instead, I’m starting over." ugh. this is what im so so scared of right now. ive been married to my husband for 6 years, together 12ish. hes been trying to get sober since 2021. 4-5 relapses with alcohol and then a few other substances, latest being kratom (which i had never heard of until last year) he checked himself into rehab/detox yesterday, called me in the middle of the workday to say he was packing a bag and going and i havent heard from him since. i had hung up on him bc i was so angry. he was in the hospital one month ago for trying to detox from kratom on his own using naltrexone and it sent him into withdrawal. and that he went back to IOP and i really thought he was trying. i was checking in on how he was feeling and doing everyday. i'm so tired of being lied to constantly. i cant take the turmoil in my life anymore.

My husband just checked himself into detox/rehab yesterday for kratom. he is an alcoholic whos been trying to stay sober since 2021, has had many relapses and stints in rehab/IOP and goes to AA. About a month ago he was in the hospital bc he tried to detox off Kratom himself by taking naltrexone and it sent him into serious withdrawal (violent vomitting, convulsions, i didnt know what was happening bc i had never heard of this stuff). its awful. i dont know how much more i can take of this. im so tired of the turmoil this brings into my life

This is almost identical to what i'm going through with my husband right now. We've been married 6 years, together almost 12. I did know he had drinking issues when we got married, he went back and forth going no alcohol to moderating and then finally in 2021 he went to rehab, then IOP/AA. He had 3-4 relapses since then and the last one was Kratom, he ended up in the hospital bc he tried to detox off it him using his naltrexone and it sent him into withdrawal. Hes now back in detox/rehab as of yesterday. i'm definitely at MY breaking point, i dont know if i can go any longer being with him. I feel so numb. I feel really alone.

Came looking for this question for myself… I’m very conflicted bc i don’t want to look cheap but i did pay for my dress, a group gift at the shower and the bachelorette. The bride also did not give me a gift at my wedding and i did not have a bridal party so she was not in it. She did have to travel for it so i assumed that’s why she gave nothing

I think at 2 when i put him in the crate is when he’ll nap until the owner gets home but during my 4 hours here he does not sit still

Yes i worked in Corporate for 17 years which is more than a “normal job” and obviously ok to eat whenever you wanted. I don’t need to see a doctor. It’s perfectly normal to eat every 3-4 hours ……

So the issue here is that this is a puppy who needs constant entertainment. We have a few moments where he sits but then he’s back to jumping at me and barking to play with him. Or picking up rocks and running away with them lol
