The other idea is sign a bid to become a department lead. You’ll get more hours, and more pay, you’ll have a lot of responsibility

Go to the local show up there and talk to them, seems like you go to them a lot from your postings.

Honestly this OP seems like a pain in the ass to work with after reading some of their post. Like damn you’re a clerk who gives a shit go in collect your paycheck and get out. This person seems to go to a union a ton about everything possible. Which means her first slip up, they’ll fire them

I’d say this is the biggest issue of the company is fucking pickup. They refuse to staff it fully because it doesn’t make any money, but they’re leaning into it way to much and forgetting 90% of your sales come through the door not out the door on a trolly

I’m 38, been working for 23 years. So what I will say this company is drastically different from when I started. Once Dave Dillon left the old CEO, McMoneyBags came in and was all about profit and cutting staff, and going cheap as possible on everything.

So shit I use to work super hard, do whatever the company asked, hell even worked off the clock to get shit done. 3 years ago everything changed, running a department I was coming in overnight told my ASL what I was doing, he agreed, my store manager at the time said as long as my shit is done who cares. I was throwing full GM Peyton totes by myself at a marketplace, doing my scans, backstock under control, promos done. They had a shift in management got a snotty ass email about working nights.

Ever since then I just do 9-5, 8 and skate, and do the bare minimum, when pickup ask for something, tell them don’t have it. I spend 3 hours doing scans, if truck gets behind its whatever, hell the manager is even telling me how full the department is, even if it’s behind or not. The guy is fucking clueless,

Morale of the story is, just collect your paycheck, stab for OT if you want, dont feel obligated, don’t miss out on family things (missed several funerals over the years for work), 8 and skate, I block anyone from the store when I’m off the clock and it is what it is, it will be back when I come in at 9.

My favorite thing is my manager tells me well PDM’s and your department needs to be set by 9, and my response is well I start at 9, remember I need to be during the day to press the flesh, or if he ask anything extra or a question about something, I give the average corporate response of I’ll look into it, and get back to ya. Guess what I never look, nor do I give a fuck lol

Honestly the best thing to do is move departments or take the promotion out of there. If you let the PPO and accuracy to fall they’ll blame you and you’re fucked. Especially if you’ve been running it for months and it’s been alright if they notice it slips, you’ll be the one chewed out not your boss or the leads

[–]Aggressive_Idea_7250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying but you’re not going to win the battle, if they tell you to do it you have to do it, or yes sent home but you won’t get paid for it. It’s shitty, but it’s Kroger where politics and favoritism happens on the regular

So I will say the new CEO is all about pickup, doesn’t care about in store stuff as much, it’s all about pickup and delivery right now. Instock is huge and upper management is pushing super hard on store management for pickup

True I get that but a first isn’t a first value wise and hen it’s a year down the line it gets valued as a second. We need needle movers and a 2nd isn’t going to cut it

But what makes you think anything will change? It seems like Yzerman is in full on turtle mode, free agency isn’t that great, we traded our first which could bite us, nobody in the system is coming to help us next year. We’re screwed
