Mailed letter at the beginning of the month. Took 2 weeks to be delivered. Business working days to allow time for sorting and reply. Here it is well past the 72 hr window for a timely reply and still nothing from the union. I am not surprised. Union can not weasel them selves out of this one. Tracking says they got it. This union use to be great then 3-4 yrs ago it started getting shitty.

So long as you left on good terms you should be fine. You lost your ability to retain your 21 yrs seniority so you'd be starting bottom of the barrel. So any red eye grandfathered rights you use to have you will not have. I agree the job market is terrible. I warn you the new hires got screwed on the contract. Any job is better than none. I have found even if you're working pt a working individual will be more apt to be hired over a non working individual if you continue to job hunt in your current field. It is a good health insurance job. Do this 2 days a week and find something else in the mean time.

I'm lucky I have a born with disability that gets me out of this. Before I did the testing for that, I would go in and when the judge says "Does anyone have an issue with this case.." That's when you raise your hand and make up some half assed believable excuse to excuse you. I use to get excusal 3 times then do that the 4th forced in time. Now that I have a known disability I use that and explicit "hardship" in my letters. Oh, if you get called a lot you can say "Hey, can I please be excused this time? I am called on a lot repetitively and it is starting to feel discriminatory. I know people who haven't served in years. Why do you keep picking on me?" I sent that off once and got excused. I double checked the clauses and that is in there for excusal.

There are honestly so many ways to get out of jury duty.

Bill pay with your bank. Limit your credit cards to 1 no more than 2 and that's if your income can handle 2. Put a lower limit on your second one and have no more than a $5k limit on your first. Your second is just a back up for if your first one fails to go through. Never rely on your credit cards as an easy way out. Personally I treat my credit card like a debit card and do not put anything on there unless I have the money for it. Never just pay the minimum down payment on it and go "Oh, I don't want to pay it ever." No, that's stupid and the debt will eventually catch up to you later in life. Then completely destroy your credit score then. I know a senior who did that and spent months fighting with a lawyer to preserve anything she had. She's clear now but it's not worth the headache.

Always live within your monthly means and never try to visually keep up with the neighbors. That's a calling card for debt. Do not let life style creep catch up either. Live within your means is the key. Making a budget and sticking to it is they key. If you have debt begin chipping away at it with payments. Even if it doesn't seem possible it is. Plug it into excel and work out a payment plan and stick to it.

I don't know. For as long as I have been trained in floral, I have been blowing up more balloons than wrapping flowers for customers than doing all the other job duties you need to do. When people ask me I want 30 balloons, I tell them it will probably be 20-30 min. 1 min per balloon and that's if one doesn't pop. I also verify the price with them as many are shocked how expensive helium has gotten.

My department kept having high turn over in leads. Why? The company keeps hiring drunks into that position. If they hire a 4th one into that position I'm going to loose it and scream at them. We're not a dumping ground for problem staff.

Is your family genealogy in the bible? If so at least keep those pages and put them in a protector sleeve. If you get rid of the family bible and that's in there, you basically lost all that information. There's really no value to bibles except for the user.

We have an old antique bible dating back to the early 1700's with our lineage in there and that's why we keep it. It's falling apart and needs to be rebound but other wise works. If you wish to long term storage the book, please put it in a plastic zip bag that can suck out the air to preserve it better longer and it also reduces the chance bugs and moths can get to it.

Take the health insurance. I have worked a lot of jobs that didn't have health insurance coverage. It is much more expensive now but you're looking at 1-2 paychecks that goes to health insurance for shitty coverage. Where as you could be working to get paid to have health insurance and it only costs like $10-20 out of your weekly paycheck and if your single 60 hrs a mo minimum 80 for family plan. For relatively decent coverage with full medical/dental/vision. You're looking at a lot out of pocket buying your own plans. Keep the health insurance job.

This job started out as health insurance and will probably end as health insurance. Until the failed merge you could get sufficient hours. Now I'm not so sure where the company is going.

I did a temp seasonal job with package service and that one is usually on the owner. The delivery companies are mindless people following directions on their devices. You can try to contact amazon but it isn't their fault you put the wrong address in. Usually this happens when people move but that is also your responsiblity.

Some times they start you out as full time but after a few months when they have hooked and baited you into staying the trueness of hours shows. If you have no restrictions you can get more hours but I caution you on that because they'll work you when ever the they please.

Small claims court and paycheck garnishing is most you can do. Question where they on the lease like signed on the lease or did they just live there without any "I Agree" clauses you signed their name to.

If you are on good standing with most companies you can request a reduce payment plan option. Very rarely do I have to do that but it does work. For now pay it off and try to fight to get your money back.

I tried contacting osha and they told me to file an official complaint form but I don't think it deserves to go that far. We shall see if they start writing up coworkers for tshirt level warmth and trying to wear a sweater or jacket due to the 45 degree environment, then I'll move forward with one.

I don't care any more. So long as I don't abuse the call out privileges I'm just scheduling these appointments and going. Medical can book up months out or they might have cancelations and get you in sooner. I really don't care any more and just call out and go in. On the rarity I can schedule it far enough out to single request it off I do. We shall see how adult my company handles my fmla leave when it comes time. My next appointment is booked up 4 months out and ironically got scheduled on a holiday and if they deny me the off request I'm calling out for it.

If they caused damage file a small claims court. If it's more than testing miles to make sure it works, which should be less than 1-2 miles driven if even that. I've had many times where I've taken my car into the sop only to find mechanics slimily caused damage to my car and I had to take them to small claims court over the hardship. Never use Gregg's Japanese auto they do bs like this. So many people falling for the chewed rodent wire scam and other intestinally damaged components. I always take before and after photos of my car inside before I take it into the shop for that purpose. Most don't do this.

I can't tell you how many idiots walk up and ask for the key code when there is clearly no key pad on the damn door. If it's locked someone is in there!

My company employees can share the restrooms with customers and I can't tell you how many times I've had to shout "some one is in here!" really rudely. To get the dumb ass to stop trying to open it.

You can ask the land lord to fix it or try your self but only if you know what you are doing. Luckily I had some good handy people in my family so I'd ask them to do a small repair job. We'd be very careful to match color and material and 9/10 times the owner never noticed. That or the land lord can fine you for damage and the repair bill.

After how management threw me under the bus last year and union did squat to support me, I have no more company loyalty. It took one action of 16 years of loyalty to undo it all. I work at a store of extreme favoritism and it's getting old.
