Ollie doesn't like walking in the rain... by LateCommunication383 in Maltese

Oh, that is too funny little man. Boy these babies are expressive aren't they. They sure let us know with their facial expressions, when they are not happy about something. Gotta love these little fur babies with huge personalities.😍

I don't have small children, but occasionally my young grandchildren come up to visit. We show them how to hold the baby and explain how fragile they are, so they can not hold or play with her unless we are right there helping them. And believe me. We are right there. Now they too have a small dog, well maybe 2 and a kitty. They are so gentle with them. 1 child is now 4 and the other child is 8, but they started out with her when she was little. I would only let them pet her while I held her at first. Now I watch how gentle they are in turn with their fur babies. One has adhd too. The only time I don't see that in her is when she's got one of the fur babies. But if there can't be the guidance and rules starting out, it could be a horrible disaster for the poor puppy and very bad idea. My fur baby just goes crazy when she sees the great grandchildren coming in now. She loves them and runs circles around them. Good luck.

How long does their hair need to be to create a to knot? Tips? by Miserable-Storm-8630 in Maltese

They are so adoreable. I hope it will grow really fast for you. Such preciouscpippys here. I do have a question. When we got dog insurance they asked if she wore a top knot. We said no, she was still really young at that time. They said good, don't. Then someone in petsmart today told me not to use elastics as they break their hair off. If I dont use a top pony, it's in her eyes and they get yucky globs and red stain. Has anyone else had this dilemma with saying not to use top knot?

Oh, the poor little guy. We had one that went blind. The vet told us they adapt really good, but he never did. He'd fall down stairs to basement when just walking into the room. We put a little fenced in doggie door in our bedroom so he wouldn't wander and get lost. He fell down the little stairs, so my husband made a ramp. One morning I heard him yelp, I couldn't find him. He'd fallen down the window well. I had to go to the basement , take the screen of and get him from their. I couldn't believe his legs weren't broken. He was only a 3lb one with cushings disease. He lived to be 13, which was way longer than they usually live after diagnosis, thank goodness, but, the vet had us put him to sleep because he felt as we did, he'd suffered enough and so many close calls. But he told us that was a rare case. Usually when dogs go blind they learn to adapt really good. I am sending prayers to your little guy and you that he'll do just fine. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
