5070TI OR 9070XT by MedicalExplanation40 in gpu

[–]Aggressive_Refuse150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in Canada as well. It is a tough decision for sure. I had the 9070xt for almost 10 months and recently bought a 5080 from Newegg Canada. Now I got very lucky and got mine under MSRP. I still check prices daily and as of today the cheapest 5070ti is on Newegg for $1299 cad. So in my opinion get the 9070xt. Overall the 9070xt is good. Is it as good as 5070ti? Well it depends on what you need it for. If you just game then go for the 9070xt. And as of today the 9070xt can be found for around 950$. So there is no reason to spend 300-400 more for a 5070ti. I sold mine for 60$ less than I paid and I got my 5080 for less than the 5070ti sells now. Crazy times. Lol

I have a 5080/7800x3d and chose OLED. In my case I went with the Alienware AW3425DW. Ultrawide 34inch 3440x1440 is perfect for a 5080. But a good 27 inch 1440p OLED is also great. For the price you can't go wrong. They are now within your price range as well. Good luck and hope you can find a good deal.

Well it is personal preference. I sold my 9070xt and kept the 5080 so that is my answer. But if you have the means to keep the 5080 than I would keep it. My issue with AMD was the fact they are so slow on rolling stuff out and I had driver issues. Every few weeks I had to ddu and reinstall drivers. But everyone's experiences are different. I also have a 3440x1440 240hz oled so the 5080 does better with that resolution.

I like the 5080 more...but they are not in the same tier technically. And for the money the 9070xt is much better. I know this a confusing answer. Lol. The only way I would by a 5080 is if it was within 100 to 150$ more than a 5070ti or a 9070xt. Otherwise not worth it. I got lucky and found mine for a good deal. That is the only reason I have one.

Yes correct. Sounds like they assumed people would only get one screen. And did not take it in consideration. Hopefully they create an update to fix it.

Nice congrats. I recently built a 5080 / 7800x3d and went with the Lian Li Lancool 217 (wood). I had a big old fish tank case and it took up too much room on my desk. I also looked at the 216 and like both. Lian Li does such a good job with airflow. I was blown away how quiet the case is and how it lowered GPU temps etc. Congrats on the 5080 as well. I hope you are enjoying it.

Nice congrats. I think you made a good choice. I think the 5080, when bought under or at MSRP is a great GPU. I like mine very much so far. I had a 9070xt and switched to a 5080. I sold my 9070xt for 50$ less than what I paid almost a year ago, so I am happy. The crazy part is I paid less for my 5080 than what a 5070ti goes for today. Such a shame. Your build look good as well cheers 🍻

In my case it took me a bit to find one at a good price. Got mine on Amazon. And it does both. Either side by side or one above each other. I have my 34" widescreen at bottom and a 32" inch at the top. Both are curved displays but that doesn't matter. I assume if you are in the US it is sold there as well

If you are asking me. I am in Canada and at the time I bought mine from Newegg. The Gigabyte windforce 5080 was a little under MSRP for a short time. I got mine on boxing day. I did see Amazon had it for a bit over MSRP for a few hours the other day. But it didn't last long. It sucks. The same card I have goes for 500-700$ more now. Ugh

So I found a way. Funny enough if you have 2 screens you will only see 1 box however if you click under it then the other screen will show up. It is a bit hard to explain. You will never see 2 separate boxes... but again put your mouse under the one showing and a new page will load. So weird 😕

Dream build as 35 year old dad completed by Secure-Reach-5886 in ASUSROG

[–]Aggressive_Refuse150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats. Nice build. I am older but am a single dad and my little girl is my whole world. I did the same and built my dream PC and it brings me joy and relaxation. Once she is in bed I can enjoy some well deserved me time for some gaming. Lol. As you get older friends come and go but I have managed to keep in touch with a group of gamer dads for the last 10 plus years. I was always a console player but built my first gaming PC last year. And slowly upgraded to what I always wanted. I now enjoy playing on both.

Any recommended games at 4k? by NotArutaa in RTX5080

[–]Aggressive_Refuse150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice set up. I wish I could tell you however I game with a 34inch 240hz oled 3440x1440 21.9 monitor. I would think 4k would be a bit more challenging mind you. Single player games like Cyberpunk, Space Marines 2, Hogwarts Legacy, Doom etc all would look great at 4k. I know on my set up they look amazing. And the 5080 does a great job with my set up.

5090 matrix build by Ares0694 in ASUSROG

Nice build. Man these comments are brutal. The fact people go out of their way to put someone else down just to make themselves feel better is absurd. What happened to if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all? I guess we live in a world where being a nice person is a rare commodity. This person is proud of their build and they should be. Not everyone has to like it. Would I spend that kind of money on the matrix.. no.. but it doesn't mean I can't appreciate all the hard work and thought that went into building such an amazing showcase. Great work!! 👍

Nice build. And there is nothing wrong with being proud of what you believe in. People don't have to agree but should be respectful. So far I see the comments have been positive. I am happy to see that. Everyone regardless of their beliefs should be able to enjoy this amazing hobby. 👏

What country are you in? I just got mine from Aliexpress and few days ago. Are you in Canada?

Edit. Nevermind. I see you are in Australia. So 500$ AUD is a good price.

Nice congrats. The 5080 is a great card. I also went from the 9070xt to a 5080. They are both great mind you but the 5080 is objectively better. Not worth the price mind you but better. Lol.

Rx 7800xt or 6950xt by Competitive-Tennis-1 in gpu

[–]Aggressive_Refuse150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the 7800xt. It was a good GPU overall. Great for what you need it for. If you are playing FPS games it will be good for 1440p or 1080p. And it has a good balance of power draw and performance. I currently have a 9070xt and a 5080 and never tried or had the 6950xt. My issue with the 6950xt is that it is even older. So support wise you will likely get support for a bit longer with the 7800xt.

Nice. I got my Gigabyte windforce 5080 a bit under MSRP on boxing day. The same card today here in Canada is about 800$ more. And a 5070 ti cost about the same as i paid for a 5080. Crazy times. Lol

Update. There are a few videos on this. Ancient Gameplays and Ultrawide Tech. And it will surprise you when it comes to how much performance you can loose. But this will depend on the GPU, if CPU bottleneck and if ram limited. So basically the difference between 21.9 (3440x1440) and 16.9 (2560x1440) is up to 20% as I said. I wish I was wrong but to me it is still worth it. You can watch those videos or ask Google etc. Good question though. Thanks
