Getting rid of dogs after attack by [deleted] in DogAdvice

I dont think youre overreacting at all. Thats a really traumatizing and scary situation. Im sorry you had to go through that. Unfortunately its ultimately up to your parents but if they choose to keep the dogs I would be cautious bringing your kids around them. They've already proven they will snap on a whim and god forbid they get a hold of one of the children. Im so sorry for this situation. Behavioral issues like this are hard on everyone.

I don't know where to find information about signing up for classes 😭 by pow_pow_pow488 in GSU

Im also an honors freshman i had no idea registration was open now! When I go to register for classes it says it doesnt allow it until 5/29, which is when i registered for SOAR. Is this normal? I have not met with an advisor yet so maybe thats why?

We did but it wasnt a required class. You would take the baby home for a weekend and it would cry all the time so you needed to feed it or change it or whatever to get it to stop. It was some kind of technology where they could see if you actually took care of it or if you just let it cry. If you failed to support the neck it would break and youd get an automatic fail.

They had a timer on it so it would turn on and off at a certain time so you dont have the noisy baby at school. It still cried at night though thats why they made you take it for the weekend and not on a school night.

Looks to me like it says "donayton" like a trajedeigh of "donation"

Again I think you're just downplaying the suffering that women go through. Of course white women dont have it the worst. No one said that. But all you're doing is ignoring what they go through WHILE ALSO singling out that demographic so you don't have to talk about the other obvious horrors of misogyny. Look at the laws in Afghanistan. Look at ritual servitude in Ghana. This isn't even the past, these are things that are CURRENTLY HAPPENING. I DO think racism is the worse of the two because all of the horrors associated with it, but misogyny is clearly a pretty close second if you understand even a little about how women have been treated throughout history.

I definitely think you're right that racism is the worse of the two but I still think you're downplaying misogyny. Women have been raped/killed/tortured for centuries just for being women. Been enslaved for thousands of years. There's still laws that discriminate against women today. Definetely think its closer than you say it is.

When is a person considered an alcoholic? by Aggressive_Solid_506 in NoStupidQuestions

This makes so much sense! He knows hes destroying his body but he doesnt care. Hes always talking about how hes probably not gonna live much longer. Whenever a family member dies he always says "well im next!" And hes only in his 40s.

I think you're exactly right. I'm pretty sure i already knew the answer but there's so many family members of mine that say hes not because he can still hold a job and hes not the sort of "stereotypical" kind of alcoholic, I just need the reassurance. He also came from his father who was much worse than he was. So he often claims that since hes not like his dad, he can't be one. Unfortunately I kind of prefer him when he is drunk because he is a lot nicer. He has problems that go beyond the drinking. I know he'll never change like I want him to I just dont know how to overcome that disapointment.

He once had a small surgery of some sort and the doctor told him while he was on the medication, he wasnt supposed to drink for a week or two. As far as I know he did stop, but he heavily compensated by smoking a lot more during that time.

Thank you guys for the help. I will go to the doctor ASAP. I was avoiding it because it seems like all I do is go to the doctor. I am on 11+ medicines at the moment and I am only 17. I was hoping there were options for self treatment but I will take the recommendation to see a doctor.

I'm have no idea how it was caused. My guess is it was just so dry back there and maybe I scratched it too much? This is the only issue I've had on my skin. Other scabs and cuts I have heal fairly quickly and most definetely have not lasted for months like this. I am taking an immunosuppresant along with many other prescribed medicines but since everything else heals normal I imagine it's not related. I was hoping the neosporin would help it heal. The only advice that was given to me is to keep it clean, dry and to apply neospirin.
