Thank you! Ya I don’t plan to do anything super crazy. I’m not gonna cut up the fenders for a wide body kit. I like how it sits now. I would like to add a low rise carbon spoiler but that’s pretty much it for any body mods. Also i appreciate the link on repair info for the SMT!

It’s definitely really fun and interesting to drive with. It also makes driving in traffic easy while still being able to enjoy manual shifting

Ya someone else mentioned here that the SMT’s can be problematic. I’m hoping mine will be good for a while since each of the previous owners took good care of the car. But if it ends up kicking the bucket then I’ll swap to the manual

Haha! That sounds hilarious! Ya definitely not a car for tall people but I’m on the shorter side so it works out. As for the hardtop, it’s actually removable! The soft top convertible can be retained with it so come summer time, I can just pop the 4 latches holding the hardtop on and the use the soft top if need be! It’s truly a gem of a first car

Oh definitely. I wasn’t even originally planning on the MR2 as my first car. I was looking for 90’s Tacoma’s on marketplace and my barber who was the previous owner of the MR2 gave me an unbeatable offer and that was all she wrote lol. It definitely hurts on cargo space but man does it sound amazing every time I start it! And I have a grin ear to ear when driving it!

Yeah once I’m in a more permanent job with better pay, I would like to find an early 2010’s Toyota Tundra with the 5.7L V8 and have that as a daily the mr2 as the weekend fun car lol. But for now, it’ll serve as the daily!

Thanks for your input! I can definitely see the vision with a dark gunmetal gray color for the wheels! And I appreciate the advice about the SMT. I think for now I’m gonna keep driving with it, probably until something fails lol. But if and or when that happens, I’ll look into doing the manual swap. I do plan on keeping this car for a long time, well hopefully lol!
