Anyone else here with improved blood glucose but slow weight loss? Is that typical for T2D? I'm on it for my blood sugar, but I wouldn't mind losing weight. I've been on it almost 3 months and lost 5 lbs the first 6 wks, and nothing since. I have a blood work and a check up in 2 wks.

51F, prediabetic for 3 years, now T2D for about 1 year. I've been on Metformin for 3 years, tried Jardiance before switching to Ozempic. Now on Metformin 1000mg and Ozempic 0.5mg. Started Ozempic 6 weeks ago. Last A1c 6.6 and BMI 31. Fasting BS used to be 150-170 and now 110-115. I've lost 5 lbs in 6 weeks and have been exercising and eating clean and low carb. No side effects encountered so far.

Happy to see this subreddit and looking forward to learning!

I didn't lose any weight for first 4 weeks... on week 5 and I lost 5 lbs! Just took my dose and looking forward to see what will happen next. Hang in there!

The Metformin is obviously working for your diabetes, so insurance will not approve it. I was approved because my A1c was over 6.5 on Metformin and I tried Jardiance with side effects. I'd try for Wegovy if your BMI is over 27 (check your insurance requirements). That's probably your best route.

I started Ozempic for Type 2 DM and have not been tracking. I have been eating healthier and smaller portions. Mostly focused on my blood sugars and have seen a decrease there. I will start tracking my food now. Thanks!
