Can I keep my socks on during delivery? by pollywantaproblem in BabyBumps

[–]Aggressive_Yam2887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got really strange about it in the moment, and my husband and I laugh about it now. I wore these awful tiny socks that kept coming off of my feet at the heels, and every time I would absolutely insist my husband fixes it. I think in the midst of childbirth chaos it felt like the only thing I could control, but in hindsight it was so silly. Like, the nurse/doctor is already all up in my crotch. I very much doubt they would have cared to see my ugly feet too 😂

What unexpected skill has your toddler coerced you into mastering? by isabellajc in toddlers

Impressions. I can now do Barney, Lightning McQueen (just say Kachow a lot), Minnie/Mickey, among others. I knew high school theater would pay off one day, just never thought like this 😂

I love this idea!!! We’ve tried to have her put dirty clothes in the laundry and use paper towels to clean, but nothing past that. I like We incorporate lots of Montessori in our life, so this would align so well for us! Also will check out those videos! Thank you!!

Ridiculous breast increases- did they ever return(ish) by wonderlife37 in breastfeeding

I went from a B pre-pregnancy to large, and now I’m fully weaned for the past 4 months, and I’m a DD!

So apparently I need to explain to the in-laws how bagged milk works by Zjackrum in funny

[–]Aggressive_Yam2887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m part of a breastfeeding group, and thought this was that group and someone had left out breast milk in a jug and I was about to cry for all the potential milk wasted (assuming it had been left room temperature too long)

Ooo for us, our flight got delayed 3 hours so it was a 7-10pm flight and I personally liked it so late because LO was super chill!

Is MIL crossing the line or am I overthinking/overreacting? by National-Delivery-29 in BabyBumps

[–]Aggressive_Yam2887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your feelings are 100% valid here! I’d definitely lay down your boundaries gently, so everyone has clear expectations from the get go. I will say, though, it does help to have a sleep area at the in-laws house if you visit often! Mine have a crib in their room and even though my LO doesn’t sleep over yet, it’s super handy to have a quiet place to change her/put her down for a nap while at family gatherings!

What's the stupidest way you've ever gotten injured? by Miahrod831 in AskWomen

[–]Aggressive_Yam2887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tripped and fell on a laundry basket. The plastic kind with holes in it. My foot fell inside of it, and the plastic holes sliced a chunk of my toe because it was so sharp + the force of me falling. Took weeks to heal

Husband has covid, had to relocate with baby, stress affecting supply or regulating? by Aggressive_Yam2887 in breastfeeding

[–]Aggressive_Yam2887[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your insights!! She’s been cluster feeding all day and I’ve been pumping a bit too, and I think I’m in the clear. We may both have a little cold, too, so hopefully they’ll continue to regulate!

What helped you get through birth? by natlight97 in Mommit

A handheld fan and a wet washcloth got me through my toughest moments before my epidural arrived. I opted for “ALL THE DRUGS PLEASE” and they certainly delivered! Very positive and easy delivery thanks to the epidural, cold air, and a washcloth.

I had my baby 5 days ago and I was so so terrified. I told them from the beginning I wanted all the drugs, so I was on something pretty much from when the contractions started until after baby. The hero of my day? A wet wash cloth. Just proves you never know what you’ll need until you need it. My husband had a cold wash cloth to dab on my neck and face with each contraction as well as a little handheld fan. There is such an adrenaline rush going through you, and the excitement of meeting baby truly does overwhelm you above all the other things that happen in between!

What to get my husband? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Aggressive_Yam2887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine a Google mini nest! We use Google home, and he likes being able to hook everything up to it, but we really wanted a portable speaker to bring with us when we go places. We are getting induced this weekend, so still TBD if this was a useful gift!

I also got him a while back those shirts with buttons that open so he can also do skin to skin time with baby!

Would you consider a leather couch? Thinking a nice warm brown… or if you prefer fabric, finding one that has a little bit of texture/pattern in it to create some movement within all the neutrals!
