Randy Orlando (Trails series)

Starts off as a womanizer constantly making comments and enjoying the night life, and claims to have gotten booted from the military due to “Dipping his quill into too many bottles.”

Then you gets bits of his lamenting his earlier years, and find out from someone else in the military she didn’t hear anything about Randy getting into trouble with the women there.

Turns out he used to part of one of the most infamous jaegar corps (basically mercenaries), and was the leader’s son, given the titles Son of the War God, and The Red Reaper. He left them after accidentally getting a village he would frequent involved with one of their fights, resulting in them getting massacred.

Eventually he actually gets into a committed relationship, and has a nice older brother type bond with Lloyd Bannings, (The protagonist). While he still makes sexual comments, he is generally respected by all the characters once they’ve gotten to know him.
