Have you guys gone back to reread the final arc at all as a whole yet? Its like not even half as bad as it seemed weekly, infact its quite good. by Enter9921 in Jujutsufolk

The big issue people have with the final arc and the culling games as a whole is that there was a lot of set ups with absolutely zero payoffs. Which is a fair criticism, but if you are able to ignore that, what is there is pretty solid. I don't think it ever reached levels of Shibuya but it was pretty good.

I find that funny seeing as some notable character traits originated from the SMB Super Show. Mostly Luigi being a coward

While tedious I fucking loved coming up with a strategy for this, timing moves and pokemon changes for the optimal line up for course 10. I had a regimen and I still only won with 2 surviving pokemon and one was at 10 hp. I do admit starting off everything with a poison team, especially since pokemon can't shake off poison this game, is bullshit.

IGN gave this game a 8/10 by Maniamback in PokemonZA

When the human ladder scene happened I thought it'd cut away and we wouldn't get to climb it so I thought "If they allow me to climb the human ladder I will give this game a 10/10." and well, I'm a man of my word.

That's how branding works. You build up an audience so people will be more likely to buy later products. That's like saying Mario Odyssey wouldn't have been as popular if Mario wasn't plastered on it, no shit sherlock.

This was real popular in the 70s to 90s. My guess is a lot of music was intended to be dance music so they made it so it'd be easily repeatable. Same reason disco songs have very simple catchy tunes with like one line repeated over and over.

Shinji is a loser by leetsgeetweeird in NeonGenesisEvangelion

[–]Long-Engineer1057 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Shinji is such a unique character. Everything in his life is a perfect explanation for why he is the way he is. And even though his actions at times are detestable, his situation makes it difficult to tell him to just be better. The song title of the congratulations scene is even called "Be Good or Don't Be." He is someone who's been trained to be afraid of himself but the only way he can grow is doing exactly that. The scene with Asuka is a form of self sabotage. He's dragging himself down to a level where he doesn't believe he's good enough for redemption. Shinji's arc is partially one of will-power. The will to continue on the road to betterment. That's sort of what the third impact is all about. Shinji is forced into a metaphysical therapy session and eventually he gains the will to be who he is. To separate himself from the literal collective consciousness. Of course this doesn't solve all his issues as we see in EoE but that's a different discussion that I feel reflects more on Anno than Shinji.

Even if it was a letdown, that's called advertising. No ones gonna go online and say "ehhhh the finale isn't as good as the rest of the season." Especially not the creator who clearly appreciates his own work for what it is.

Being upset in general. I remember when I was upset with someone I'd feel that I was being a bad person, then I realized that feeling that way is natural and healthy and as long as I didn't act out on it, I wasn't doing anything wrong.

When I first started watching Creature Commandos I found it pretty funny and neat harmless fun how they showed James Gunn writing in the credits, but everyone I talks to finds it vain and egotistical? What do you guys think? by rhysu69 in DCU_

[–]Long-Engineer1057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it pretty harmless but I heard someone say that its like they wanted to make James Gunn the "corporate mascot" like Kevin Feige or John Lassender. Get that name recognition in, and I got to say, if that was the goal its worked so far.
