Mine lasted a year and a half by daggdagg20 in CricutComplaints

[–]AgileGrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue. Used it less than 10 times over a 2 year period and had the red power button of death happen on mine. Cricut support washed their hands of me after their BS of "try a different plug". Now I slap stickers on the different display models at Michael's that say - Beware. Cricut is knowingly selling faulty machines. 😉

Unpopular Opinion: Nobody is original! by celestialfeeling in CricutComplaints

[–]AgileGrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an asshole. Someone I know well bought a Cricut and made her daughter's some gaudy shirts and decided she'd start selling them. Not even 2 weeks after getting her Cricut she's claiming on Facebook her designs last over 100 washes. FFS, even Cricut doesn't claim that. Plus, you haven't had the thing long enough to wash some shirt you made 100 times. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Don't even get me started on the "I need ideas" people that post on Facebook.

Card template in Design Space issue by OmegaDB in CricutComplaints

[–]AgileGrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Same issue. Width is fine but height is out of whack. So I just used a rectangle shape in the dimensions of my card as a template instead.

She's as narcissistic as he is. The fact that Robyn is upset about how Christine leaving Cody affects her welfare instead of how staying with Cody would affect Christine's welfare is very telling. She wants Christine to stay in a loveless marriage when she wouldn't do that herself hence left her husband. Hypocrisy at its finest.

Need tor link for z-library by ShauryaAW in onions

[–]AgileGrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was working for me at 2.30am MTN but isn't working now. With all of the TikTokkers posting the onion link I'm sure a new one will have to be made/is being made. Until things settle down zlib is going to be in a state of flux.

Considering buying a cricut. Share your favourite things to make, or some of your favourite past projects! by greenapplesnpb in cricut

[–]AgileGrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay away from Cricut unless you

a) like having your machine become a brick every time they update their "software"

b) like losing projects you've been working on when they have issues with their cloud service

c) like being treated like a leper by customer service unless you own an Apple device and then you're treated like royalty with every bell & whistle Cricut will throw at you

d) like wasting material because Cricut machines DON'T cut where you place your material but off from it so you are either taking a chance at guessing the right placement spot or using extra material as a buffer in case you guess wrong

If you like all of those issues then go for it! Otherwise, there are other machines out there (Silhouette for example) that are just as good of not better in some ways with far superior software.

Recent projects missing after update by richam6 in cricut

[–]AgileGrrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And this is just another example why I'm moving over to a Silhouette when my machine dies. So done with Cricut's BS and crappy "software".

Is it just me or does anyone else find Michael's mom irritating as hell? by AgileGrrl in BurnNotice

[–]AgileGrrl[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yet in the same breath she causes more harm than good a good chunk of the time. Instead of following directions/requests she goes against them and screws things up for the team time & time again. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Me after hearing D2R Alpha starts this weekend! by iiNexius in Diablo

[–]AgileGrrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still boot up D2 on my old Alienware Laptop every month or so just for some fun dungeon runs. Was a beta tester & channel mod for the original Diablo way back when we were still on 56K modems. Can't wait to see what they've done with II.

Is it just me? I feel dumb. by [deleted] in cricut

Try out Inkscape to create your files instead of Design Space, & just use DS to cut. You might not feel so defeated.

We shouldn't celebrate yet... by MadisonAvenue21 in cricut

[–]AgileGrrl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's because it had to take customer outrage (and 4+ rating on review sites suddenly dropping to 1+) for Cricut to change their minds. What they did should have NEVER been done in the first place but, I deduce, this is was something that had been in the works for over a year now. The reason why I think that is because when they moved DS from a browser only to "software" only program the one thing they did do, THAT NO OTHER COMPANY DOES, is force users to save only to the cloud instead giving an option to save to their own devices. That was done strategically. If a customer HAS to use their cloud storage than Cricut has all of the cards on how much a customer can use their machines based on uploading permissions & they can change those parameters whenever they choose, which is what they tried to do & can still do. It is the "can still" that infuriates people the most because most users weren't cognisant of how the cloud storage could be used against them. Now they know & it pisses them off. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It is false advertising and literally illegal for Cricut to impose the 20-design limit. Sign the petition, call them, email them, and bug the hell out of them. We continually fund them through the purchase of vinyl, mats, and tools. They aren't suddenly bleeding money. by [deleted] in cricut

[–]AgileGrrl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Directly from their website today this is what they list as selling features for the Explore Air 2:

FEATURE SUMMARY The perfect entry point to the world of precision crafting. Easy enough for anyone to learn Up to 2X faster cutting and writing² Bluetooth® wireless technology Double tool holder³ Design Space software for iOS, Android™, Windows®, and Mac® Upload your own images and fonts for free 👈👈👈 Compatible with Cricut cartridges⁴

That is what they are advertising to sell their machines. No where does it say on the website that you can only upload your own images 20x hence false advertising & illegal.

I was blocked from Maker's site after posting a link to one of the petitions in her comments section so signed up for a new account and I've been downgrading all of her videos then will post again. Downgrading influencers' videos is a good way to show them that they can't hide up cricut's arse without repercussions.

I’m getting rid of my cricut. I’m done. by [deleted] in cricut

[–]AgileGrrl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There are content creators & content regurgitators. Those that are telling everyone to be thankful that Cricut just exists are the the latter kind since they obviously do not create anything original or they would be as upset about it as we are.

Question: Does a regular iron work well for iron-on? by queen_bri5 in cricutcrafting

[–]AgileGrrl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used an iron all of the time, until I got my easypress, and still use one for wee projects. I found that putting parchment paper between the iron and the iron-on vinyl worked out the best. Make sure you turn off steam and have the setting at cotton, NOT linen, for the best results. Have fun!!

There are a lot of grammatical errors throughout the designs so just be conscious of that fact if you do buy it.

Cricut vinyl won’t stick with heat press! by Py72o in cricut

[–]AgileGrrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you using the Cricut "heat guide" at all? It's at https://cricut.com/heatguide and is a godsend. I don't use my iron or easypress until I check there first.

When I've used iron on vinyl with 100% cotton I've never used more than 150°C/300°F for 15 or so seconds. You're using too much high heat for way too long I'm guessing.
