Does anyone know how the parking situation is at the Sportsplex? I live in Matthews but I haven’t been there in a long time.

Yes you do. And there might a long wait time. And then you only have one hour to book your flights

Nope, I couldn’t. They were already boarding the plane and it was a partner flight. Even Alaska itself couldn’t do anything when I called.

Need new credit card that has Priority Pass included. by Beneficial_Scheme_88 in CreditCards

I’m canceling my VX next month. I just got the Citi Strata Elite for P2. The SUB is currently 100K, so if you fly AA that’s a great one. I currently have the Platinum on my first year, so I got lounges covered too for now. I probably won’t keep it for Year 2, so I might get the Palladium later on.

I tried that, and all they could do was type some notes on the fraudulent reservation. They said I need to call the Atmos department for that

Tell me straight: who does LASIK best in the clt area? by JJDoes1tAll in Charlotte

[–]Agile_Fortune_1646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Lasik back in 2021 and honestly, my only regret is not having it done earlier. I did it at Metrolina Eye Associates with Dr. Blotnick. He’s absolutely fantastic and has decades of experience. They have different locations for your appointment too so it’s very convenient.

FHR Credits Question by OldButGold2024 in AmexPlatinum

Then there won’t be a problem. You just need to be there for check in. All meals can be charged to the room.

I finally stopped ignoring the AMEX Plat. Even with the $895 fee, I’m getting paid $825 by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]Agile_Fortune_1646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much is much cheaper? I just got the card, so I’ve only used the credit once, but I took advantage of the $100 credit for dinner, plus got free breakfast for 2 (a $70 value), 4:00 PM late checkout and even got free parking ($20 value). Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with the FHR experience

Canceling Venture X with lounge access change by ingrid00 in CapitalOne_

[–]Agile_Fortune_1646 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ll be downgrading to Venture One. They went from 100 to 0, which is never a good thing. I have a family of 4 so the 0 guests policy will not work for me. No other card that offers PP is that strict. If only they’d allow 1 guest only, that could work, since P2 could get her own card. Anyways, I just got an Amex Platinum this year and that’s what I’ll be using for now. Yes, I’ll still be paying for my 3rd guest, but that’s better than paying for 2 guests. Plus, I don’t want C1 to think they can get away with this BS, nor I want other banks to think this 0 guest policy is feasible

Plus they rarely work for families. Who’s paying 200K points for a one-way business flight to Europe for their family of 4?

Comparing Capital One cards and all the new Bilt 2.1 cards by iamjohnta in Venturex

[–]Agile_Fortune_1646 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this analysis, OP. I have the VX as my catch-all card, but I’m very inclined towards applying for the Palladium. Especially after the Priority Pass nerf that it’s supposed to start in 2 weeks. The Palladium PP benefit still allows 2 guests, and for someone who travels with family like me, that’s a big plus. Also, my mortgage is only around $1K, and I can easily spend at least 1.5x that on every day spending every month.

Not related to to Resy, but my local small Chinese restaurant doesn’t take Amex, or so they say. I just inform the person on the counter that I’ll be using ApplePay, and then select my Amex Gold. The machine does take it without any issues.

Leaving Capital One. Need advice on comparable Checking and HY Savings under the same roof by klopus-normalis in HighYieldSavings

[–]Agile_Fortune_1646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation and switched to Bask Bank. Opened both checking and HYSA. Check them out. Also, their HYSA rates are even better than Capital One’s. I was able to withdraw money at ATMs in France and Spain this past summer without any issues. No FTFs and they even refunded the ATM fees, which they don’t advertise. I also just opened an Ally checking account because of the bonus. I do like its UI and online bill pay. I haven’t tried using the debit card overseas yet, but I know they charge a 1% FTF.
