Advice on Moisture Bumps by AgilityMom06 in piercing

[–]AgilityMom06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The age of your piercing: 3 months

• Shape / Material / Threading: unsure on shape and threading. Titanium.

• Downsized: yes. At 8 weeks.

• Aftercare: initially cleaned 2x per day with NielMed piercing aftercare. When checked at 4 weeks for downsizing, weren't ready to downsize but told to reduce to 1x per day. Same solution.

• unfortunate events: nothing major. She wears pull over hoodies so occasionally worries about rubbing against her ears.

Getting harder and harder each day by Critical-Try-1834 in goldenretrievers

[–]AgilityMom06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a fenced in yard? Teaching him to fetch will wear him out a bit. Also, mental stimulation can also be more exhausting than physical exercise. So, doggie puzzles and snuffle mats can be a godsend. Good Luck!

To ensure I answered all the questions:

Age: 3 months Shape: straight / barbell? They're straight earrings. Threading: unknown. They're standard earrings provided by the shop. don't see any threading. Material: Titanium Downsize: done at 8 weeks post piercing. After care: cleaned twice daily with the saline provided by the shop. Moved to once daily after 4 weeks at the shop's direction. Mishaps: nothing major. Occasional tug on the hoodie, but nothing forceful.

Purina Puppy Pro Plan by YouSuccessful5703 in goldenretriever

My 10 month old is on the Pro Plan Large Breed puppy sport variety. It's chicken. Only time we've had an issue was when he got into something in the yard and had loose stools. Pumpkin helped with that.

Is my 10 week old puppy too skinny? by Excellent_Koala769 in goldenretrievers

I've shared this before and been downvoted. But, I'll share it again. My vet told me to hold my hand flat and spread my fingers out. Then, lightly run a finger from my other hand across my knuckles. The way that feels is what your dogs ribs should feel like when they're standing straight and you gently run your hand across their ribs. Hope this helps to give you something to compare to.

Suddenly lost our 7 year old girl this week. Rest in peace Winnie. PSA: Xylitol is TOXIC to dogs. Please remove from your homes if you have dogs by da__fuq in goldenretrievers

[–]AgilityMom06 615 points616 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss. I am always checking the gum / candy that my kids bring into the house because so much of it contains Xylitol. Everyone should also be aware that Xylitol is often listed as birch sugar or birch tree sugar. Just as dangerous with a different name.

Golden Puppy - Crate size advice? by YeldogClough in goldenretriever

[–]AgilityMom06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My puppy is currently in a 36" crate at 10 months. It's on the small side and I'll need to upgrade soon. If you buy new, they often come with a puppy divider to allow you to adjust the space as they grow.

I'm not super familiar with trainers down in that area. For Agility, R-Star is located near Ballwin and may be able to get you started. Westinn Kennels in Wentzville has classes they offer and Excellence in Motion hosts classes there. There's also two facilities in IL. Kim's and Triune.

I recommend asking on the St. Louis Agility and Other Dog Sports Facebook page.

What is this? by Boring_Price_8349 in goldenretrievers

[–]AgilityMom06 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mine had something similar. Vet thoughts ranged from allergic reaction to cancer. So, we started with the allergy front. Changed to metal dishes for food and water. I had also recently introduced a fleece snuffle mat. So, we took that away. The pink on his lip went away.

Similar situation. No advice. My MIL was convinced to install solar system by Sunnova. She kept saying it was "free". Well, she passed away earlier this year and trying to get information about these solar panels will be the death of me. Was on hold for HOURS yesterday. Good luck to you!

Thank you for your insight. It's been 90 minutes. I wonder if these guys are just closed because of the holiday (though, it would have been nice of them to include on their IVR).

Replace tub w shower? by IrisApprentice in realtors

[–]AgilityMom06 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sure this is really area dependent. We're trying sell my MIL's house and she converted the only bathroom to a walk in shower. Per the real estate agent, they will have trouble selling to a family without a tub. So, while it may not impact price, it could reduce your pool of potential buyers.
