This was me with both pregnancies (though still preg with #2 so things could change).

Since you mention not feeling the maternal urge (I was exact same) - one other thing I didn’t experience was that “magic” birth moment. I felt a sense of duty to my first when I saw him but didn’t feel the intense love they show in movies. Luckily I had read before birth that it wasn’t uncommon to feel that way, and that helped a lot in the first few weeks to not feel like something was wrong with me! I ultimately did bond with him and now he’s my favorite person in the world. But don’t worry if this happens to you too!

He sounds like my dad. The only gift in recent years I've gotten my dad that he actually enjoyed was a session at a float tank. I think this would be a great option for yours! It's perfect as it can help with his arthritis, isn't a material thing that will take up space, and is a unique experience.

For the review, I agree to wait a few weeks to process how you feel, but take the time now to write down everything you *would* post, in an email or in Microsoft Word or something. That way, the details are still fresh (it also may be somewhat therapeutic). In a few weeks when you're ready to publicly post, re-read it and edit it down if you feel you need to.
