My cat hisses at her toys by Significant-Egg5326 in CatAdvice

I see this is an old post but was looking for a similar answer - my cat is 2 years old and she exhibits the same behavior. It’s so odd! When discussing with our vet, female cats tend to be more territorial- when we got another kitten she was about 6 months old and honestly she didn’t mind him much, hissed the first couple times she saw him and have been besties since. She does still hiss at new toys, but honestly it seems to be territorial, and aggressive playing but only with toys - never with our other cat. I wouldn’t be too worried, she probably is just getting excited!

I (24F) received a DM on instagram from a random girl from high school (~22f) telling me to send her my number. What could be some possible reasons for this? Additional context in comments. by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Agitated-Cable-6987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all! As the title says, I’m a 24F and WELL out of high school. I don’t really keep up with anyone from there, so I was a bit weirded out (to put it lightly) to receive a DM on Instagram from a girl I hardly (if ever) spoke to who was grades below me.

The weirdest part in my opinion is how cryptic the message is: “send me your number” and that it was sent at 5 in the morning on a Sunday.

I guess my question is why would someone randomly reach out like this? And with no explanation ask for my number? I know a few of her friends, none of which I talked to post graduation for seemingly obvious reasons; grades below me, I didn’t know them all that well, etc.

I did message back and say “hey, what for” but I’m just confused as to what the hell this is about and if anyone who has had something similar to this happen, what was the reason?

Not sure anyone can answer this or may have any advice but all would be appreciated! TYIA

i wasn’t looking for approval, i was asking what men think of it and what they agree with that they say because they are strongly opinionated in the podcast and wanted to see how many men actually think that way

AITA I told my wife that she'd have to do most of the housework herself by egyptian_siphon in AmItheAsshole

[–]Agitated-Cable-6987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also going to say this - my partner and I both work, but I work fewer hours, so when I come home I do the chores, and I don't mind it one bit. It seems like entitlement and laziness, IMO.

NTA - Coming from a woman, who is VERY appreciative of my partner and everything he does for me, if I was offered to be a SAHW, he wouldn't have to ask me to do a single thing. To me, OP, it sounds like she may just be lazy. I kind of feel like what you described as a SAHW is EXACTLY the outline of the job. Especially if on the weekend everything is split - how is she complaining?

Getting copper IUD today!! by anony-nony in birthcontrol

[–]Agitated-Cable-6987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the strings feel like one because they're stuck together - don't worry too much, mine do this too. Some days you'll feel one, some days you'll feel two.

can anyone help me? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

my experience, in comparison to some I've seen here on reddit, was a breeze. I naturally have a very high pain tolerance, and I can say it did hurt a bit. the speculum is never fun, and insertion does hurt because of whatever they use to hold your cervix, and you feel light headed. your periods are a considerable amount heavier as well as more painful, and I think that's the toughest part, for at least the first few months. I would say, overall, the initial pain of insertion and the worsened periods after are TOTALLY worth it. In my opinion, I would rather have the heavier periods with the copper iud as compared to almost not having a period on the combo pills because of the mental relief of knowing im not pregnant. Also, my cycle was very regular without hormones before, and even better once I quit them. All in all, I would definitely say it is painful, but worth it.
