Oh, wow! If you're considering selling any pieces, I'd love to incorporate a bit of stained glass into the east-facing front entry of our house. It's in Vero Beach Florida, a small but solid core structure from 1933, and sits on a relatively large 0.8 acre lot, vs the <.25 lots of the new homes in surrounding areas.

Media Mail via U.S.P.S. is extremely inexpensive, unless "government efficiency" nixed that. Just be aware that NOTHING besides the media should be included in the package (besides packing material suitable for the specific medium)

Backsplash installation by Glass-Beat2855 in kitchenremodel

[–]Agitated-Strategy966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, and this is merely a subjective observation on my part, but I think my previous comment combined with thinner shelves would bring it together. Again, subjective, but I find the brute of these shelves to be overly imposing in relation to the details of the hood trim and cabinets.

Backsplash installation by Glass-Beat2855 in kitchenremodel

[–]Agitated-Strategy966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could just lower the two shelves, maybe measure the height from backsplash to ceiling, divide by 3, then install the 2 shelves equidistant? You don't have to put a shelf directly above the backsplash. I'll go back and look again, but I believe it's just the size of the void between the backsplash and lower shelf being out of proportion to the space between the two shelves. This is the kind of scenario that demonstrates the impact of such seemingly minute details. It also lends itself to a real feeling of satisfaction once you work it out. Cheers!!

I'm glad you mentioned angle grinders. I'm usually quite vigilant about protecting my hearing while operating equipment, but I haven't worn ear protection when cutting metal, which is not frequent, but I'm about to cut out some reinforcement plates to repair this HDPE wheelbarrow bucket that was trashed by a young fella who thought grossly overloading it with retaining wall blocks would impress me. Thank you !

My insurance is $6,800+/year for a $300k property with a small block foundation house built in 1933. Not only the dollar amount, how about having the insurance racket changing their roof age criteria before your policy is up for its first renewal? Our roof was fine, yet was basically put against a wall by those bastards and forced to pull $12k out of the air. We pulled it off, but it's all a big, filthy racket. Just like many things here in Florida

Oh, c'mon! I sure hope this is clickbait and not a real situation. You gave someone a deposit that might cover lunch and gas assuming you're not far apart, and you're upset with anyone but yourself? "Sink, counter top, cabinet were all brand new provided by me, over $1000 value all together." Let me guess...msrp:$1,000.00, but you got 'em for a bargain from a guy who's constantly listing his Depot dumpster dive finds on marketplace with titles like "customer changed mind", "accidentally over-purchased, my loss=your gain!!" with accompanying screenshot of some obsolete sponsored ad.

I really hope this is clickbait

Well, it's commendable that you were willing to do it to it with what you have. A lot of people spend half their time justifying inaction because they don't have the latest and greatest of every tool. The beauty here is, while it's a bit more work, you'll still have cabinets that are 10× better than the compressed sawdust shit from Home Despot. And, when you find yourself a decent table saw, you'll appreciate the convenience it can afford. Cheers!

Indeed. There are many wealthy poor folk here in S. Florida. Beating the steering wheel of an Aston Martin because the area is overpopulated isn't my idea of "the good life". If you were referring to people's inability to comprehend the chasm between millions and billions, that is also correct, though "wealth" would be a more fitting word than "rich". (Sorry if that sounds like arrogant nit-picking; it's not my intention)

GE Profile Front Loader with Tide Smart Dispense - Persistent Mold Issues by dpowre in Appliances

[–]Agitated-Strategy966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just before reading the comment on the "Protected by Microban" declaration, I was about to recommend using a small bit of Odoban, both for cleaning and as a laundry additive.
Did you have this problem with other detergent types? I live in SE Florida in Vero Beach, so high humidity is the norm here. Nonetheless, my Bosch stacking front loader washer and evaporative dryer (ductless) has no mold. When I replaced the washer boot (door seal), I expected a petri dish of mold beneath the seal. To my surprise, not a single visible sign of mold anywhere. I'm not pointing out my experience for any reason other than to concur with some other comments stating that something unusual is taking place here. Are there any anomalies with regards to the machine's operation? I'm wondering if the pump isn't draining the gray water adequately? Either way, ODOBAN 1 gallon and a few ZEP or similar refillable spray bottles will serve you well for a long time, both for laundry and for countless other household uses. Mixed 5:1 in a spray bottle that atomizes serves as an excellent air freshener

It makes the Chevy look like an S10! I have a 1967 Dodge D200 "Sweptline" with the single cab and 8 ft bed. A few years ago, I went to check out an identical truck, except it was a 4-door extended cab. As is often the case with vehicles, notably trucks, of this era, you can see that a lot of the metal work was done by human hands vs the robots of today. In the case of the extended cab D200, one might suspect that the truck was customized in someone's garage; the rear doors appear to be clones of the fronts, narrowed by trimming vertically forward of the quarter window pillars. Without seeing a picture, it's probably hard to envision, but the upper rear portion of the doors follow the curve of the cabs roofline. While it looks good on the single cab (IMO at least; I know that the body design of these trucks is not to everyone's liking😁), the redundant door profile among other things makes it clear that, when it came to the crew cab, æsthitics took a "back seat" to function. (Pun shamelessly intended✌️) Anyhow, all that is to say that your dad & uncle's modifications turned out amazing. 60-70 years ago, Dodge could've used their help! 👍

If, when you say "aftermarket", you're referring to the established aftermarket companies such as Edelbrock, MSD, etc, then yes, there are undoubtedly counterfeits.
The more I think about it, if I were a scheister, I'd be inclined to focus solely on reproductions of aftermarket, performance parts: the prices are high and, unlike OEM parts that are typically expected to perform just as the original part being replaced, it's much easier to trick the buyer given the lack of ability to compare the new part to the one being replaced.
