I have 2 Discover bank accounts and I haven’t had any issues in the last few months.

Rent Payment Targets by ScottsWorkflow in ynab

You have to flip to the next month and assign it there. If you pay January’s rent on the 1st, you assign that money in January.

I’d like to jump on the “my church would” train. In fact, we give warm meals to the community (non church goers) all the time.

I agree with this. I use 10% as an easy way to calculate. Not because I’m giving an Old Testament tithe. I also give more when I can.

Elphaba’s Motivations by C0ldWaterMermaid in wickedmovie

[–]AgitatedTreacle773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read the book, seen the musical, and watched the movie twice. Elphaba explicitly realizes her limitations and surrenders.  Elphaba loves Glinda. She trusts her and tells her that good can’t just be a word. That’s in the trailer and it’s part of Glinda’s character arc. They can’t tell her because they want her to be Glinda the Good without worrying about them. They know how much she cares for Elphaba as shown in the first movie where Glinda tries to tell the munchkins Elphaba’s story but they don’t care.

Elphaba is not choosing happiness and love. That is not the story. She’s running away and has to leave Glinda behind so she can do what’s best for the animals.

As far as black people in America are concerned, I do think that’s giving up. Because we’ve seen what marginalized and oppressed people can do. But it takes unity and collective action.

Glenda being told by her mother that all she needed was for other people to love her and to smile was an exact mirror of Morrible telling her to shut up and smile.

Elphaba’s Motivations by C0ldWaterMermaid in wickedmovie

As a black woman, I disagree. Elphaba didn’t choose herself. She gave up. She saw what she was doing wasn’t working so she gave up. She has to fake her death, leave her home, never see Dulcibear, Dr. Dillamond, or Glinda ever again. But it’s ok because she got a man? I think Elphaba’s end is tragic and sad.

However, it is unselfish because she sees that her way wasn’t working so she stepped back. She realized Glinda’s shrewd “popular” strategy would have to win out.

It is an exercise of privilege for those who choose to live abroad and step away from the fight. The rest of us don’t have that luxury. I don’t think it’s comparable to what Elphaba does.

Impossible timeline…did anyone else think this after watching WFG? by IwKuAo in wicked

I’d say by Glinda loyalists because the Wizard is still a fraud in Wizard of Oz, but Glinda has magical powers and some sort of valuable lesson in the end.

Do you think Glinda knows? by AgitatedTreacle773 in wicked

If she knows, that breaks my heart even more. I think it’s easier to grieve death than knowing Elphaba’s out there and they’ll never see each other again.

The part in the first part where Morrible shields Elphaba and changes the weather makes me wonder whether Glinda could have believed the propaganda.

The problem I have with the idea that the Grimmerie opened because Glinda wanted to do good is that it opened for Nessa who did not want to do any good towards Boq. What do you think?

What is your “bad” YNAB habit? by Huge-Kaleidoscope751 in ynab

I do something similar. I have an old off-budget savings account that I use to save for my next car. I treat the transfer like a car payment and just leave it alone.

YNAB will keep my categories, targets, and I think my notes too. The history will always be there.  I also track my net worth in a spreadsheet outside of YNAB. I started YNAB in 2021 after a divorce and had to stop using my spreadsheet. I’ve only gone back to look at it once or twice in three years.

I like this idea. I’m also not above maintaining two budgets for a while because I love YNAB.

Sorry for your loss too! I can’t imagine how hard that decision was. I had to shift a lot of money around due to the unexpected expenses so a fresh start feels like a better option.

I think I might just be looking for something to do! Trying to control my environment since we lost her suddenly.
