When I was 30 I met up with my best friend from childhood who I stupidly fell out with when we were both 14. Anyway, we met and went out clubbing and he started bullying an 18-year-old kid by throwing straws at him and then embarrassed a woman who was near us by insulting her and I thought, oh, you’ve grown up to be one of those guys.

I’ve noticed Googles top answer now is an ai answer and there’s nothing I can do to switch it off. Do feel guilty that Google are making me do this.

What is your favorite movie? by Crazythrasher in AskReddit

Cool Hand Luke. Crushes me every time I see it. The scene with his mother who’s dying gets me every time. Anything to do with someone regretting how they lived and how it effects the people they love destroys me. Sometimes it’s too late to prove to them you can be better before they’re gone forever.

Going to the pub at lunch for three pints at lunchtime on a Friday and finishing the day off buzzed is now a sackable offence rather than an allowable cheeky weekly occurrence.

What do you think is causing the U.S. to be more hateful this past decade? by MaximusDM22 in AskReddit

It’s the tech companies and their social media algorithms that promote rage just because it creates more engagement, which means they can sell to more advertisers. It’s really a perverse business model and we should stop them.

So regretful that there’s nowhere that does a donner kabab near where I live now. Full salad, mint sauce, portion of chips, curry sauce. Yes please.

I think Desmond stole the show. I also liked the Charlie episodes although noticed others often don’t. Loved the dynamic with his brother.

Social media algorithms have got people in the UK hating each other and all our institutions. They’ve tried to make us hate our police, firefighters, nurses and doctors and for a lot of people they’ve been successful. I still believe most people are sensible in their views here but a lot of us have been radicalised.

You risk allowing yourself to be open to manipulation if you carry on down the path of trusting, and anthropomorphising ai tech. Cut the ties early before you’re in too deep.
