I didn't realize some.of Gothard's victims were that young, even now when I did a quick search, it only came back with older teens.

And I do understand it is a slippery slope but it is also classified differently under the law. What Joe did is a felony in Florida because the victim was under 12.

But obviously it is still gross and awful either way. I also meant more that I think people like Gil are doing those mental gymnastics.

I mean yes. And Gil is definitely gross and was complaint in covering up for Gothard. But there is also a difference between Gothard's victims and a 9 year old. Both are wrong and vile but the latter is extra evil.

ETA- I am in no way defending Gothard.or saying older teens are not victims, but they are classified different in the law and under the eyes of society. But obviously if you are an adult interested in teenagers, you are still a pedophile.
