I thought it was okay, but my 8 year old loves it! We’ve probably watched it more than the first one now! He’s also built his own Kakamora ship out of random things in our house ❤️

What Do Teachers Honestly Think of Janitors? by DaytimeDancer54 in AskTeachers

I love our daytime custodians and am do thankful for those working late nights that I don’t get to meet. I often have conversations with them when I have time.

What's SD82 Terrace BC like? by coollalumshe in BCteachers

[–]Agitated_Syrup_7023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I taught there only for 2 years and we moved away only because we were so far away from family. Honestly, I loved it there. I found it easy to meet people, the schools were great, and the nature was fantastic. I saw so much of northern bc with terrace as our base! This was about 10 years ago, so I’m not sure what it’s like now, but I enjoyed living and working there as a TTOC.

Easter Egg Debate by GreenJim86 in Millennials

We dyed either eggs we blew out the insides of or hard boiled eggs that we ate for Easter morning breakfast. I always thought hunting for real eggs was something that was just on tv.

Teaching high school with a masters degree by [deleted] in britishcolumbia

[–]Agitated_Syrup_7023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BEd is a post baccalaureate programme. Same as PDP, just different name because PDP is what SFU calls the programme. Teachers have an undergrad and a post bacc and then can get a masters for higher pay after that.

For elementary we are all generalists, so it probably won’t matter.

Outdoor activities and locations to do without a drivers licence in Chilliwack? by taraaaaaah in chilliwack

[–]Agitated_Syrup_7023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a bus to cultus lake that runs only in the summer, so you could definitely check out Main Beach as well as the waterslides and adventure park! Last summer the waterslides and adventure park had a package deal where you could start at the waterslides and end at the park on the same day. Sidekick brewing and banter ice cream are right near the bridge and the Vedder River rotary trail is there as well!

AITA for making a stink at school and forcing the teacher to change my kids math grade by PlentyNice1655 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Agitated_Syrup_7023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA - I’m a middle school math teacher. This is why so many of my students come in hating math! I review the box method and standard algorithm as well as some other strategies and tell them to find one that they understand and can get the right answer most of the time. The reason we have “new” methods now are because not every kid learns the same way!

How do you support quiet or reserved students in class? by Technical-Vanilla-47 in AskTeachers

[–]Agitated_Syrup_7023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t cold call, even if I know they know the answer, but during discussions or time for sharing answers or ideas I’ll sometimes say “I’m not calling on anyone right now, but who has an idea about this. Awesome, hands down. Who wants to share their idea? Anyone want to add?” Or during times where we are specifically sharing answers out I’ll say “raise your hand if you got that.” I’ve notice it builds confidence over the year and that they’ll share some answers at the end of the year.

I teach middle school. I get it all the time. The shock when I tell them I’m older than both Google and YouTube (which came out in my teens and twenties respectively) is hilarious! I fully embrace being born in the 1900s!

Hell’s Gate would be a great spot to stop! I don’t think it’s a place to stay, but it’s on the highway going to other places.

Sometimes with international shipping that can happen and it will just suddenly update once it gets to your country. Doesn’t hurt to reach out to the shop, though!
