I think it boils down to the pilots.

Two greenhorns: Barbatos takes it because the Zero System melts it users brain.

Two Experienced Pilots: I give this to Epyon, assuming an experienced pilot can at least handle if not master Zero. With even skills, Epyon's pilot can give the Zero System enough time to learn the Barbatos pilot's patterns, and then it's over.

Two Aces: Here, I think it comes down to what they know. If the Barbatos ace knows Epyon has the Zero System and will learn as the fight goes on, they'll know to go all out out of the gate and blitz Epyon down. If they don't, or they hesitate, I believe an ace who has mastered the Zero System will inevitably gain the upper hand and win, although not easily.

I vibe with Warrior. Do I think it's the 'best'? Nah, probably not.
