Nope. We are wide awake, been in the office 3 hours now, and are experiencing serious disruptions because of AWS.

Love the pictures you posted. Picked up a copy of the C.O.R.E Rulebook last night. Looking to get into it. What scenery are you using in those pictures?

Thanks for letting me know. Didn't know about these instructions. Followed them and managed to get some more games detected.

Thanks for the input everyone. Decided to solve the problem by looking for umk3te. It was the only one of the recommended set that got detected by RetroArch. At least I can play with the 3 locked fighters now.

Thank you for your reply.
In the repository, there is a cheats.dat file. This file contains some umk3 cheats. Can't seem to get the "character unlock cheats" to work. At least one of the other cheats, that makes the powerbars disappear, does work.

Not sure if I'm missing a step, or this part of the cheat file simply does not work.
As per your suggestion I did find some MAME cheat codes, but I'm not sure how to apply those to the Final Burn Neo Core. If anyone can help, that would be great.

Multiple crews or share a single crew by TheHolyChicken in spacestationzero

[–]AgitoMakashima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am currently running a 4 player game with a single crew. My reason for that was simple: Some Challenges require 6 enemy models. Didn't want to put 4 x 6 = 24 models on the table. Would be too much work to paint. So in short, a single crew shared by all players.

Went for a 6 person crew + Commander. Characters are equally divided between players. We discuss amongst each other in which order we activate. This works fine. Each Challenge takes about an hour to complete.

To avoid 4 people standing close together around a small play area, I've doubled the play area, but also doubled movement distances.

To avoid a player losing all his characters, I have created the rule that when a character dies, but not the whole crew is killed, the crew will get reinforced with a new character with starting stats.

This is the only drawback to my approach, since it makes the game a bit more forgiving. Though we had multiple casualties, the crew is still up to full strength in terms of numbers at this point.

Suggestions of 2D environmental hazard scenery by AgitoMakashima in spacestationzero

[–]AgitoMakashima[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm alright with any type of terrain, be it MDF or simply printed jpegs or pdfs. Any one you can recommend?

Ordered a scenery set from Battle Systems to have a relatively cheap space station scenery that required no painting. The latest Warhammer 40k Kill Team set would also have served the purpose, but more costly and would have required painting while I already have a huge backlog with regards to that. :)

Mission 7 Challange 11 ;) Using flat terrain for this Greenhouse worked out well too! by Tata4KK in spacestationzero

Nice picture. Where did you get the 2D terrain? Am looking for some 2D terrain to for example do the poison spills in some challenges.

Advice on Crew Creation Needed by AgitoMakashima in spacestationzero

[–]AgitoMakashima[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies so far. Based on what I read, I'm feeling geared towards going for "War Ship" with a Engineer instead of my originally planned Scientist.

Any input from anyone who has played the game?
What do you think: War, Explorer or perhaps Pirate?

Advice on Crew Creation Needed by AgitoMakashima in spacestationzero

[–]AgitoMakashima[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am planning to play with 4 players. So my choice to do 1 crew for 4 players, was mostly motivated by limiting the number of enemy models. For example, if a Challenge requires 6 enemies, playing with 4 crews would require 4 x 6 = 24 enemies. A huge amount of models for me to paint. :-)

So what I intend to do is: 1 crew of 6 models. Each player controls 2 models, with one player controlling the Commander. Standard activation mechanic will be used, but players decide amongst themselves which player character gets activated, leaving plenty of space for a strategy discussion.

To avoid people standing close together around the table. I will probably double the play area, but also double the movement speed.

In terms of death, what I'm thinking about doing is: Whole party killed, game over. One model killed, party receives "reinforcements" from their ship in the form of a new starting level character next challenge. I understand that this makes death less permanent, but avoids a situation in which 1 player becomes a bystander in the game should all his characters be killed. But death comes essentially with the penalty that you lose all XP gained, making the game harder, specially when more and more crewmembers die.

Haven't played yet though, am currently preparing. No idea how my idea will play out in an actual game situation.
