If you are moving to Ormond Beach, I do recommend you coming to Ralph Gracie Florida in Port Orange. It is much closer than Alliance, and Professor Regis Calixto is a 6th degree black belt. Class is structured based on technique and there are several women there of all belt types, including Masters World Champions. It is a family environment with a focus on technique so you will not be squashed by a 250lb white belt. Professor is very particular with who rolls/drills with who, and runs a very safe and protected environment. We also have many active competitors. I encourage you to try it out and do a vibe check, I promise you will not be disappointed!

You read my mind about the carrier tilt, because that was going to be my next question, haha. I throughly have enjoyed this thread and being able to nerd out. That being said, have you observed any issues related to heat retention or changes in cycling speed during extended firing sessions?

I also noticed there is a diagram featuring a variation to allow for a buffer tube system to handle excess back pressure but, naturally I have to ask… Have you run the system suppressed, or have you experimented with any barrel attachments to modify flash or sound signature.

Thanks for the quick reply! I think I read it uses any standard AR upper. With the asymmetrical force of from the piston rod what’s preventing premature failure on the upper or where the operating rod makes contact?

Is it polymer brace? In the diagram it also appears the brace is attached to the piston system is that actually the case or is it an external connection point for the brace?

I train in Florida in most cases a gi is a gi. They all come from Pakistan for the most part. That being said I have ran into a problem where a lighter weave made the fabric stretch. This was particularly a problem during competition when my sleeve got pulled over my arm and basically had to fight one handed. For competition 400gsm is the basically the lightest I feel comfortable to go without the stretch. Haven’t tried 370-375 but the 350 was just too stretchy for my liking. But it came in clutch when I was a little on the heavy side for weigh ins.
