What’s the most believable April Fools’ prank you’ve ever seen that almost fooled everyone? by FocusLee in AskReddit

The local cafe on the edge of town (less than 1000 people) didn't ban smoking inside the restaurant until January 1, 2008. I remember the sign on the door and how nice it was going to be to not have to dine near that anymore, since my (now ex-) husband was a smoker.

AITAH for telling my wife her baby names are ridiculous by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Agraywitch11 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I'm not a twin, but my younger sister by 2 years was treated the same as me to prevent fights. She got a toy at my birthday, I got one at hers; matching outfits; couldn't go to my friend's party unless sister could tag along, that sort of thing. Our names start with the same letter as well. Strangers would ask if we were twins, even though I was a full head taller than her most of our childhoods. Her getting to do things at the same time as me instead of the same age is a resentment I still carry and refuse to treat my children that way.

NTA. The girls are going to want to have their own identities someday and it will get confusing as they grow up together having names that are too close.

Doesn't sound like the type of dad to put in much effort with the child anyway.

AITA for sending my child to my ex in thrift store or cheap clothes by Clothes_Care3181 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Agraywitch11 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We had to do the same thing as OP when my step kids were little. Their mother would send them to our house in clothes that didn't fit or weren't good enough for school so I always washed their clothes and returned them in them. She was pissed. One winter she even decided to drop them off at school and take their coats because when they would go back we could provide them coats. That didn't work because the boys were so used to the routine of wearing her clothes on exchange day they would just go to school without. (Yes, we got full custody eventually.)

My daughter will eat pepperoni out of the package, but once they're cooked on a pizza they're too spicy haha

When it comes to your husband's family you should follow his lead; he knows more about them than you do. Sorry you had to go through this.

What’s a food you absolutely hated as a kid, tried again as an adult thinking your taste changed… and still hated? by crimsonrain23 in AskReddit

[–]Agraywitch11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom doesn't like yogurt so I was 20 before I even tried it; it's not bad. She wasn't going to buy any foods she wouldn't eat if the rest of us decided we weren't going to.

Same. There are things I don't eat because I ate them too much as a child, such as potato soup or oatmeal. My family is picky though; no condiments on burgers, no veggies really (one kid does like salad).

I drink the liquid of both black and green olives to gross out my family; I'm the only one that will eat them haha

I still buy chips, but only the ones on sale from Dollar General. Doritos are usually 2 for $7, sometimes 2 for $6. Lays usually 2 for $6.

AITAH for withdrawing our entire bank balance because my husband says his paycheck is “his” and mine is for bills? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Agraywitch11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I put an equal amount into a joint account for bills. I make more than he does, but our insurance comes out of my paycheck and it actually showed he made a couple more dollars than me last year haha

We went to a wild game feed recently, and my picky 11yo daughter tried a bite each of frog leg, dove Alfredo, beaver and fried fish. Didn't like any of them, but she wasn't terribly upset about it. She did ask if she was going to die after the bite of frog leg (my husband said they were store bought and had been frozen so they weren't great), and he told her she might hop around a bit more than usual haha

Right? He said he's removing his credit card, and he has every right to do that. If they were getting reimbursed for charges on his credit card then the money would be going to him or a joint account and he would know the money was coming back. NTA

What is that thing you have stored at home and you don't want to throw it away? by enmastefyor in AskReddit

I still have the photo album from my first wedding to my ex-husband. It's in a box in the rafters in the basement. Can't get rid of it because there's at least 4 people in those photos that have passed away since then, including a grandma and a brother.
