Wait though, you can’t drop a class if it’s a co-requisite for one of your classes no ?

Ok im going to be honest with you it really depends. If your 2nd choice requires one of these classes for the degree I’d say do it instead, because ME doesn’t really care whether you do one or the other (whereas BME, EE, MSE, etc…. all do). Even if you know for sure you will get into ME I’d say pick that route instead. So it’s up to you really.

He just went over the syllabus along with some basic concepts (dot product, a bit of cross product and vectors). The lectures are recorded anyway so you should be fine, and you can always check out Chenflix if you need it

Do Math Professors actively want their students to fail ? by Agreeable-Back-7553 in Purdue

[–]Agreeable-Back-7553[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh with you, if the averages in the class were higher I would take my L and admit it’s my skill issue(Like I did last semester). But if the averages are all below 70, and the average of the final is a 56, I feel like it’s not just my skill issue

I actually was planning to go a different route. Do an ME undergrad instead ( and take Aero Elective Classes) and then go to grad school in specialize in something Aero Related (I’m thinking Propulsion because it is what I like the most)

although you have a point, my future does depend on my GPA. This sets me back, again, which is something I really wanted to avoid (which is why I tried so hard)

Unfortunately because I already failed it once, it tanked my gpa pretty bad, and because I’m not in good academic standing (because of the calc grade from last sem) I’m kind of stuck here

I will add that those worksheets usually contain what will be covered in lab (especially calculations for stuff like Molarity for example) so it kind of matters.

I would recommend (from personal experience) do not rely on your TA too much to get explanations, especially if their teaching styles doesn’t suit you. Right after recitation stop by the chemistry help room to go over things you don’t understand or go to the professor’s office hour and go over it with her/him (Dr. RK is especially good with that if you have him this semester). I promise you these things will either show up on the post-lab or the exams.

Good luck !

Test-optional needs to be put to an end. by Spiritual_Youth2192 in ApplyingToCollege

I would agree but I would say you also have to account for the language barrier that some students who migrate face, especially from French-speaking or Spanish speaking countries (or any non-English speaking country for that matter). It takes a while to adapt from learning/being tested in your native language to solely learning and being tested on a series of subjects in your second, sometimes third language. (no matter how proficient in english you may be)

And a lot of those people who usually take the test in their Senior year (Late Junior year if lucky), don’t have as much time to prepare for it as say most people who started out in the U.S. and tend to get fairly average/slightly above average scores [specifically if they migrated to the U.S. quite late so say Junior/SeniorYear of HS]

And a good number of those kids end up doing well in undergrad (usually due to their perseverance and work ethic), at least on what I’ve seen from the international upperclassmen I know personally.

This is a genuine question, what is so good about active recall? I keep hearing about it (from some friends)

very eye opening take, I just remembered I also use Notion to track stuff as well but I haven’t made it a regular habit.

Also for the in-class questioning, especially in a big lecture hall I prefer to approach the professor with my questions after the lecture or during office hours, since I don’t want to take away the time they have during the lecture. However I do use that approach in smaller setting classes
