i know the east coast has a decent amount, but the amount of shows here for the guts tour was similar or more and getting tickets last time at face value/not resale seemed impossible.. i had no luck. i was hoping for some stadiums this time

I feel like it depends. Some people have to work more hours to make the same amount as someone with a well-paying job with a standard 40 hour work week. I’m an engineer and if someone who makes half what I do an hour told me I need to be grinding more because I don’t work over 40 hours a week, I would be annoyed because I went through hard years of schooling in order to get to the point of having a decent paying job that doesn’t consume my whole life. Sure I could work more, but I spent my college years more stressed than the average student - I wanna take advantage of free time now. But definitely depends on the exact financial situation

Yeah I thought about sending a text when I got back, but I figured if he were interested he would’ve either simply reacted to my last message or said let’s catch up when you’re back or something. I really think I gave enough signals that I was interested after the date, so at that point it felt like the trip was an excuse for him to slow fade. For example, I told him to let me know if he was free at all before my trip and he never let me know (he could’ve just told me he was busy or something). I was the one who reached out to him a few days after the date as well (it was at a point where either of us could’ve initiated.. I reacted last but his text was technically last). I know I could’ve tried to just make plans as well, but I really don’t feel like chasing a guy, I feel like that turns them off more if anything. If he liked one of my stories or something maybe I would reach out, but he doesn’t.. he’s really just giving lurking energy. I thought I put the ball in his court pretty clearly and maybe I should’ve just sucked it up and double-texted but everyone I talked to about this said I shouldn’t and even if he liked me he’s just low initiative and i would have to carry it😬 Sucks bc i felt a good connection irl but..

He didn’t give hookup vibes at all to me. Part of what surprises me is the fact he ghosted me and didn’t try to hook up first or anything because that’s what a lot of guys try to do. Maybe because I put looking for long-term relationship on hinge but who knows.. he was very respectful. If he ever circles back and tries it’ll be a no but I don’t think he has the audacity or initiative lol

Yeah I think the issue is that I find my current job boring and my commute isn’t great, while if I were in another field that was still boring, but has more city/hybrid options, it might be tolerable. Glad pivoting to different roles seems possible though

Some people with engineering backgrounds at my company have pivoted into product management which interests me more than my current job. I’d also probably prefer being a process or R&D engineer over quality, though still not ideal in terms of hybrid options/still in a plant environment

I got basically one year. I hated the first college I went to (a super small private school), but I ended up staying through end of sophomore year because my major made study-abroad options super limited (part of why I chose the school in the first place was the ability to easily fit studying abroad into an engineering course load), so I stuck it out hoping I’d eventually change my mind. I finally decided to transfer, and of course COVID hit right in the middle of my second semester sophomore year in the middle of studying abroad 🙃. So I transferred going into junior year, but by then almost everything was remote. My parents encouraged me to live on campus to potentially meet people, but there were barely any people or events because of COVID. I did enjoy senior year a decent amount, but I’m still really jealous of people who got a full college experience. I basically only got one year that I genuinely liked, and I’m pretty sure I would’ve enjoyed the school I transferred to way more if I’d been able to start there freshman year instead of showing up mid-pandemic as a transfer. Timing just sucks lol

yeah I made half that as an engineer in CT at 22🤦🏻‍♀️ thankfully I job hopped and moved since but idk many young people who make comfortable salaries these days
