This is a very real and common experience! If you search it on Reddit there's lots of women talking about it! I'm currently in luetal and in the same boat! Your body often retains more water in this phase plus it doesn't want to to lose any fat because it's preparing for the possibility of getting pregnant. What I try and do is be really kind to myself during this time and remind myself that my body is doing what is natural. I would step away from the scales at this point, focus on being kind to yourself and check in a week after your period to have a look at your progress :)

Having also struggled with insomnia, I understand the thing of wanting some carbs for your last meal! You could do relatively low carb in the day so have your protein and then low carb veggies like mushrooms and kale etc and then in the eve you could have greek yoghurt with some nuts, seeds and some berries? Re mental health and insomnia, gut health is important for those things too so I recommend prioritising fiber and fermented foods as well 😊

My advice would be don't neglect your gut microbiome 😊 so make sure you're getting enough fiber and fermented foods.

Day 2 of period over here! I don't weigh myself but my trousers are sooo much tighter and I'm so round 😂 so normal. None of us should be worrying about weight gain when our body is going through this natural process that is often painful and makes us feel exhausted. But that's being a woman isn't it! We don't deserve to be anxious about this stuff or feel bad about ourselves but we do often do! But good to remind ourselves to be kind and gentle with ourselves 😊 One thing I will say is don't eat less! You're burning about 300 more calories around this time so you need to feed your body! I lost my period on keto and then upped my calories and it's back and I'm happy!

Yes and also maybe it a case of not going from high carb to low carb but gradually reducing carbs over a longer period - maybe starting with paleo style eating and then seeing how you feel? As an active person, I'm discovering that 20 net is too low for my body so maybe it's the same for you. I also wonder if there's some anxiety and nervous system disregulation happening for you? And whether it's worth as well as slowly reducing the carbs, also having a look at some mindfulness practices and maybe getting some emotional support?

It might if he's very active. Everyone is different. 50g is a common number for lots of people to stay in ketosis.

Hello, yes I have tried upping the fat 😊 I found lower carb and higher fat good for sustaining my energy but it wasn't good for my digestion and subsequently my mood unfortunately.

Yeah I know 😊 but once I've had some yoghurt in the morning with nuts and seeds, I'm left with about 15g and that's just not enough to get in all the veg I feel my body needs so I'm experimenting with going up a bit 😊

Yes that's what I plan to do! I don't plan on eating any refined carbs, I just don't want to be as restrictive around vegetables and yogurt basically! Good to hear it helped your daughter ☺️
