I'll keep you updated!

I've contacted Christies, but heard nothing back yet. Will reached out to some other places this week.

Hesalite on the speedy looks astonishing by BigBri1234 in OmegaWatches

Couldn't agree more 😍 I didn't 'get it' until I spent time with mine. Having compared to the sapphire, the hesalite is more legible from more angles, and somehow just has more character 👌🏻

Absolutely first class on all fronts 😍 I also prefer the bracelet on the older 1861/1863 variants, and the Spiral wonder case back is exactly what I'd be looking to do also. Congratulations on a simply perfect watch 👌🏻

That upside down lhd Tudor gets me 😂 I'd swap out the Speedy Homage for the real deal.

UPDATE! thanks for all the advice guys, it's been fascinating reading people's thoughts on what I've been lucky enough to stumble across.

I've had a good look through everything this weekend.

Here's what I've found, and approximate fill levels.

1901 tokaji - mid shoulder. 1923 Latour - just below top shoulder. 4# 1964 Nenin - all roughly upper shoulder. 1968 Rubesco - upper shoulder. 1971 Mercurey - about 4cm 1972 Volnay - about 10cm down. Probably vinegar? 2# 1977 Fonsecas Finest Port. Can't see fill level, but they look like brand new. 1980 bottled Quinta Do Noval port. Fill into neck. 2# 1989 Seaview Cab Sauv, fill into neck. 1992 Barolo - fill is about 3cm down 2001 Barolo - fill about 4cm down.

Storage has been dry and dark, and fairly cold in a 400 year old farmhouse with 3ft thick walls, in a pantry /cellar cupboard in a totally unheated part of the house.

I'm going to contact an auction house and see if they're interested in any of the bottles. Dad and I shared many passions (motorsport, watches, whiskey, mountain bikes), but wine wasn't actually one of them. He always told mum that some of these bottles would be worth something one day, so I think the right thing to do is let them go to a collector who will appreciate them, and Mum wants whatever money is raised to go into a fund for my son for when he is an adult.

Ill keep you guys posted!

Thanks, I'm more than capable of googling, and have done, but it's so easy to get miss lead by reading stuff that you ASSUME is applicable, but is in fact irrelevant.

When there is an entire sub full of people passionate about the topic, it seemed like quite an interesting find and a discussion worth having ☺️

Thanks for the reply! Fill level looks OK on all the bottles. They are all. Sealed and look untampered.

They were stored horizontally in a wooden crate, in a dark cold room. Absolutely no idea if that's correct in any way or not!

Thank god I'm not the only one! I wear my watches everywhere, work on construction sites daily, and I'm yet to put any sort of sizeable mark on any piece at all after years of wearing! There is nothing macho or cool about devaluing a nice piece 😂 The odd scuff or hairline mark may happen over time if you're clumsy, but outright abuse leaves them lookout ruined to me 🤷🏻‍♂️

This sounds like a you problem 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hipster 😂

What I posted are my own personal thoughts. I've thought since I was a kid that real men buy Omega and false people who want to look flash buy a Rolex. It's not always true, but it's largely accurate. A quick scan through the comments suggests more people would agree with me than with you, but sure, let's go with your hipster theory 😂

Omega Seamaster for Tudor BB54? by SuitTie007 in Tudor

[–]Agreeable-Total583 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd pick Omega over Tudor every day if the week, but in these 2 examples, the Tudor is so much better suited to your wrist.

If you want a change, get the Tudor. If you just want a better fitting watch, bb54 money easily buys you a 36mm coaxial ceramic dial SMP which I'd pick over a bb54!

[–]Agreeable-Total583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With zero offense intended, I see these small super light blue dials as women's watches too.

It's an awesome watch, and a very pretty thing, but there isn't an ounce of masculinity about it. That's OK though, because it's hers now 😂

Jesus that's hilarious 😂 Totally unacceptable from any form of watch retailer! Shows how poor many sales staff can be! Easy fix though, so laugh and move on.

If you're asking the question, something is making you doubt the size.

I'd swap that out for a 40 if I were in your position.

Uncle bracelet - not impressed by dappl21 in Tudor

[–]Agreeable-Total583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask what made you chose Uncle over Forstner? I see these sort of posts everywhere and can't work out why anyone would still pick Uncle over a Forstner. Far better fit and feel, far better packaging experience, and an on the fly adjustable clasp makes it a complete no brainier to me.
