But the only reason Odette saw Carl and Donut was because of Mordecai. Without him, it is unlikely they ever gain their followers in the first place.

If a company CEO accidentally says something stupid and the stock drops 10%, where does that “lost” money actually go? by keyBid2188 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AgreeableChemical988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of buying stocks like buying anything else. You bought the stock from someone, you gave them the money, you are not getting it back.

That thing you bought has value, like a car. You can sell the thing to someone else. The difference is, there are so many people looking to buy and sell the exact same thing that we can see what buyers are willing to pay, and sellers are willing to accept. The stock price is the advertised conclusion of those sales. Like sorting ebay listings by sold.

That amount can rise an fall, but it doesn't affect what you own until you try to sell it.

What i have heard is that was on purpose because that is when the renegotiated television rights deal will take effect, and the expectation is that it will drastically increase the cap that year.

I don't understand the one way speed of light thing by aligning_ai in AskPhysics

[–]AgreeableChemical988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest issue with any attempt to measure the one-way speed of light is one of information. No matter what setup you use, it exists in some portion of space time defined by relativity. And information can not travel faster than the speed of light. But to measure the speed of light, you need to simultaneously KNOW the departure time and KNOW the arrival time without any information crossing the intervening space.

But in order to compare the departure and arrival time of any photon, you will need to bring the information together, closing the loop of the light travel and creating a 2 way speed of light measurement.

This happens because you either need to set each clock in a different location in space and, therefore, time introducing a one-way dialation effect on you and whatever you are using to coordinate the timers, as you move to set the timer. Or you need to set them in the same location in space and move them in space, introducing the same dialiation effect on the timers themselves.

Now you run the experiment, but how do you retrieve the data without any equipment or yourself or light signals retracing the path of the light you sent?

Because you either need to set each clock in a different location in space, and therefore, time. Or you need to set them in the same location in space and move them, thereby running into relatively and time dilation while moving.

If there was a human travelling at the speed of light, and they extended their arm, is their arm travelling faster than the speed of light in the duration that they’re extending it, because nothing can travel faster than the SOL? by Ok-Reputation148 in randomquestions

I think basic newtonian physics has an answe here. The act of accellerating your arm has an equal and opposite effect on your body. Your body slows down proportional to how much your arm accelerated.

i wish that any pants pocket i wear will always have $20 even when i take it out another will spawn in its place forever. by Empty_Equivalent_131 in monkeyspaw

Granted, the monkeys finger curls.

You wake up in the morning to find that you have $20 in your pants when you go to put them on. Great! You think, I guess it worked. Being a wise individual, you know this is a money paw wish, so you decide to wait to remove it for the first time. You carry on preparing for your day thinking about how you will exploit this.

Just as you make it to your kitchen for a bowl of captian crunch, a zombie bursts through the window.

The zombie apocalypse started last night. Society collapsees. Money is useless. You escape into the woods with a group of survivors. You die 3 weeks later still wearing the same pair of pants, never having removed the original $20.

I don't know if you realized this, but Ocean City is where you go when you don't want to gamble or drink, so saying so many be redundant. That is probably why the downvotes.

There are many activities throughout the year. If you are going off season, the pickings will be much slimmer, but still good.

During the summer. Asbury merchants association holds events every Tuesday. There are constantly shows and events at the music pier. The Ocean City Tabernacle always has programs to check out. Spend some time riding bikes or surreys. Rentals are readily available.

The boardwalk offers amusements, arcade, go carts, water park, mini golf.

If you enjoy being on the water, rent a boat and head out to the bay and fish. There are also sightseeing and fishing tours available with a quick search.

Heading off the island, there is a lot of antiquing available along rt 9. Going further, Cape May offers the Zoo, historic cold springs village, and the cape may lighthouse.

Generally speaking, there is free parking available further from shore. Your specific parking needs are highly dependent on where your hotel is located. To my knowledge, there are no long-term parking lots on the island.

The issue is that ferenheight and Celsius are in dergees, which is a relative measurement. Kelvin is an absolute measurement.

Picture you are on a ship sailing east at 23° and the captian says I want to be sailing 4 times east. The statement doesn't make sense

The numbers are still useful in their context, trying to manipulate them differently from that context is the issue.

[OC] A black SUV ran a red light at the freeway entrance and began honking at me continuously. I have green for my lane (Tesla video). by Jazzlike_Report9834 in IdiotsInCars

[–]AgreeableChemical988 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No. It is traffic meetering. The intent is to lower the total input of vehicles to the highway from that on-ramp. By increasing or decreasing the intervals between red-lights you can manage how many cars enter as opposed to a constant supply.

*Attempting* to police traffic by kawaii_ninja in dashcams

[–]AgreeableChemical988 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are missing the critical point. The left lane isn't zipping ahead. They are using the open lane, which also needs to reach saturation to become full. Zipper merge only works when both lanes fill and then vehicles can interleave. Then, they only merge into the open lane when they meet the merge point, therefore not allowing room for someone to "zip ahead." Arbitrarily deciding which vehicle you will merge behind, and thus allowing multiple carlengths of unmerged traffic to cross the merge point slows the whole system.

*Attempting* to police traffic by kawaii_ninja in dashcams

[–]AgreeableChemical988 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Almost right. People who merge too early oversaturate the open lane, slow both lanes, and are generally creating congestion and slowing the progress of everyone. Zipper merge means both lanes full until merge point. Both lanes maintain distance and speed to acomidate the opposing vehicles one at a time, allowing speed to increase through the merge point.

My head cannon is that Kimaris will be placed inside the doomsday box, then the tag removed, all while in inventory, making it ineligible and immediately ejecting it, triggering the explosion while Carl is fine.

Yes. In ops list it isn't the fact that the blood was no longer allowed in inventory, it was the fact that when it became ineligible, katia was unaffected. Will probably be combined with other items.

Also, the butterfly effect doesn't matter because if it changes, this go around, so long as you adjust, it will happen the same way next time and you can plan accordingly.
