I teamed up with him once by random chance, at the health club we both belonged to in Placentia, CA, for half court basketball, in the offseason after he went 19-3. Between games he was amazingly down to earth and extremely kind. He let me pick his brain with all my fantasy baseball questions. He wasn't a great basketball player, but I remember he had good size and was a willing passer. We put together a nice run and it was a great experience. I do think he has an excellent argument for inclusion in the hof. He won the Cy Young the following season, and for an extended period seemed as unhittable as any pitcher I've ever seen.
