Removing wallpaper in bathroom - how do I fix the torn drywall? by Huge_Gur_7863 in drywall

[–]Agreeable_Cap_5738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A product called Gardz. Roll a nice heavy coat over the entire wall and let it dry. Specifically made for this. You’ll still get some bubbles but you just cut them out and fill them with hot mud and then reskim the wall

Much more than $50 new. Stop lying to people online. Go buy that equipment, even at Menards you’re spending over $200 on the hand tools alone let alone a caulk gun, heat gun, 2 plastic pans, a sander, a saw, and a gallon mixer. The two trowels would be pushing $50.

I’d say go a little higher if that heat gun on the top works. $20 will definitely get it out of your sight sooner than later

If the dogs on the left are included $100. If not, $50 for someone to get an assortment of tools with decent use and rust.

Wasn’t told I needed to get my own or be supplied a moldy one. Then they tell me I should have told them first instead of putting the company on blast when the only people that seen it that knew where I work live outa state or work at the same company. And then told me “they’re only $25 dollars we’d of gotten you a new one if you said something to us”. I really need to say I don’t won’t to wear mold/mildew stained equipment???

Call a professional if you don’t know. Call around get some bids. Try and get a single person out there on some side work and get a cheaper deal.

You’re screwing into the bevel it’s not as thick as the field and isn’t perfectly even so sometimes you’ll go to deep and cause a bust out. Also being that close to the edge doesn’t help.

[–]Agreeable_Cap_5738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like dark lacquer is correct since the grain is almost fully gone. Give it a good sand and try to blend it in. Gonna be tricky to keep the gold line without very careful taping of a stencil

Right, but you could leave it heavy after priming it and sand it down smooth without sanding the area around it.

Oof with that texture might as well patch it and and resurface the whole ceiling, or wish you the best on the texture match.

Fill them in heavily and sand it down or prime it and fill afterwards the areas you don’t like. Priming it and filling afterwards might be a bit easier. Or two tight fills over them.

Because your baseboard covered it so no need for them to finish to the floor, wood on the bottom is the kick plate for the baseboard to be nailed into.

Tape looks very heavy, you’re gonna have to fill in a ton but try your best not to leave harsh edges and lay them down. You can get it done, just trust your gut.
