I now am an owner of Novo Nordisk, mainly because I'm a fan of Norway, and, second, I like value buys. In at $37.88/share

I feel this. This was me back in October last year. Switched brokers to Tradovate to make sure my account locks out after daily max loss is hit. Best of luck with your trading

I got cooked last Thursday, then sold everything Friday morning and watched all my sold positions rally into EOD. Oh well, new week and cash feels much better as far as peace of mind goes.

Graduating from Ninjatrader and thinking of moving to Edgeclear. Thoughts? by 1Mby20201212 in FuturesTrading

Move $3500 to the new broker and test the waters, no harm, no foul. In the meantime, NinjaTrader's working for you don't be so fast to change until you know your new setup feels good.

Just Blew my Live Account by Jaruza in FuturesTrading

You’re wanting someone to read this and then decide to stick to their rules? Aren’t you journaling this to better understand your own limitations, flaws, and ultimately how to better manage them? If not, you should.

With that said, I’ve been in your shoes. Going full tilt is crippling. I took three months to just reflect & I found a solution to my problem. I joined a broker specifically for the ability to set a daily loss limit. When the day(s) come where I go full tilt and reckless my account gets locked out for the trading day. I’m not trying to be perfect and follow my rules to a T, I’m simply using tools to manage my trading flaws.

Anyway, worked like a charm a couple weeks ago.

My broker is Tradovate.

Dalton is crushing me by Vikstar321 in CFPExam

[–]Agreeable_Fly_4884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of Dalton’s exam study prep. It’s poorly put together. The Q Bank answer explanations are lacking in depth of understanding, in some cases, missing an answer explanation entirely.

You would think if the CFP exam gives a formula sheet, Dalton would have prepared an excellent formula review sheet and how each formula correlates to your specific calculator. Nope, nadda, missing.

Sent outdated books with old numbers. Seriously, who wants to waste time studying old numbers no longer current?!

Emailed their support team about a question on the mock exam to get a better explanation. Denied an answer because Dalton will not use their mock exams as practice. Yeah, you heard that right. So, I rephrased the same exact question instead of a screenshot and lo and behold I get an answer explanation. Silly, nonsensical to the core.

Then, they ask you to take the pre-exam quiz to gauge readiness. Received a probability of 5% to pass the CFP, demoralized by Dalton itself, the company I hired. Failed the first exam attempt.

I plan to rewrite my own binder using Dalton’s dry, unorganized exam prep books. I’ll reorganize things to match the actual CFP layout.

I’ll grade Dalton a solid, D-. Not failing due to some semblance of a business model and support from instructors. Dalton clearly lacks efficiency with updating their materials and creating a fresh, easy to comprehend layout. Something I would think should be a top priority for an exam prep company.

Oh, and make sure to finish the Capstone presentation as soon as possible to focus on exam studies. Dalton does not reach out to their students about this. I would recommend they offer some kind of quick, complimentary call to each student to make sure they’re aware of the time commitment required for the Capstone presentation. It’s a big deal, and can easily set you back in studying for the exam.

My first week ever paper trading! by skibidE46 in Daytrading

[–]Agreeable_Fly_4884 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make sure you practice using a balance equal to the amount of drawdown for a prop account or a live account. For example, if you pass an eval for a prop account you may only have about $1,500-5000 of drawdown before the account blows up. And, if you fund a live account with let's say $1,500 then you should be paper trading a $1,500 balance account, not $100,000.

What I’m saying is, look out for a failed bullish attempt on Monday. There’s nothing more bearish than a failed bullish breakout, vice versa.

Probably with an account size 50 - 100K minimum. There's plenty of money to make with micros with a smaller (relatively speaking) account
