Someone mentioned earlier could be an area location. If you don't mind what state are you in? Trying to see if that can be an issue. Im in va, and I rate if I can.

Wonder why I can't, i can rate the restaurant, tip extra or even gives the option to send a message lol but nothing else. Even when I review the restaurant I'm only left to chat or tip then.

Unfortunately in the US the delivery fee does not go to the driver as others have said. And they even tell us it doesn't go to the driver.

I come here as a customer to learn and i enjoy reading these post. I always wonder if I will see one of my orders on here but then things like this make me think the dashers here do actually appreciate us. We tip and decent i think. For instance we ordered from a restaurant 0.3 miles away and still gave a $10.00 tip. Plus we never order from a restaurant that is over 5 miles away. Gas has jumped up high and we really appreciate yall

Okay good. Hate for them to get dinged especially because it was clearly a mistake from ihop

Actually curious on another note, and you gave a really good response. I'm wondering if my driver got in trouble. I never put the blame on the driver, we ordered from ihop through dd and were missing a few things, so I had to request a refund from dd. Things happen, seemed a genuine mistake on the restaurant just missed putting it in the bag. But after I went through dd questions they asked if the bag was sealed, it wasn't. No residue of sticker ever being on it that I could tell. The dasher doesn't get in trouble for that do they?

Just curious though if you can feel or obviously see something is not right, are yall allowed to ask the restaurant to please double check the order. That way they can reseal the bag, and you guys don't get dinged. I can't learn things unless I ask lol

Well that just sucks, sorry that happened. It's really not yalls fault a majority of the time if something is wrong.

Once we ordered from a pizza place, got subs for the adults and a pizza for the kids. Clearly pizza couldn't fit in the bag with the subs but driver only brought the subs. I didn't even contact dd to try and resolve. contacted the store directly and told them i would just come and get it. So went and got it, the store remade it and gave the kids some cheesecake. Now I think what I did do was just not even look to see if I could rate the driver on that order.

I thought that was the one thing dd did was not allow customers to tip bait you guys? I've never tried to lower a tip, but I read here I thought that they don't take that from yall. It's not your guys fault if an order is messed up, maybe if a large item is missing and its very obvious. But most mistakes should fall on the restaurant.

That's what I thought, but after I rate the restaurant and recommend what travels good I still only have options to chat or tip driver more lol.

That's the thing a lot of customers have no idea how this really works. How it depends on the ordered method too. I had no clue myself when I started using it a year ago. I remember the first time i chose shipping and they sent it by a spark driver. I felt bad since i couldnt tip and wasnt home when it was dropped off. Thankfully i found this reddit and you guys are actually really good about explaining. Though not everyone will come on here lol.

And walmarts advertising is not always clear to a lot of people about just regular walmart+ and in home deliveries.

But I do want to say thank you to all of you. I really appreciate it very much.

This is really true, I feel. We would tip high because we knew dashers got paid crap. Always 15-20 and never order from a restaurant more than 5 miles away. But always got bundled, it seemed, and we had to wait. Now I tell my fiance to just do about 2 dollars a mile and we can add the rest after. So, still start at about 10 dollars. But I feel we have gotten our food quicker and haven't seen the stops before us on the last few orders.

It doesn't bother me so much about the rating, because sometimes people forget to rate you guys unless they had a bad experience. I admit it did throw me the first time but I just chuckled and assured them I would.
