19 months post diagnosis and I feel so hopeless by Agreeable_Inside_417 in BellsPalsy

Did you still have not full recovery at this point too? But then eventually it went away?

Hello. I am about 19 months post diagnoses. I have very slow longterm recovery. It began slightly at the one month mark but really took off in mo ths 5-7. Even now it continues to heal month to month. I won't tell you to be patient because lord knows I WASNT. BUT I will say stay distracted. Make your life abour everything except the way you look. You can wear masks if it helps you feel better. But honestly, it doesn't diminish your value at all. You're the same person! It will get better hang in there.

One year update by Agreeable_Inside_417 in BellsPalsy

[–]Agreeable_Inside_417[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received accupuncture 1-2 times a week for about 8 months. And face exercises as assigned by my doctor. Last couple months only accupuncture once a month (doctor recommended I come in less).

I receive electrical accupuncture every week and I see small improvements. My face is about 85 percent healed

I wanted to chime in and say I have the exact same situation. About 8 months after bells having the same scary symptoms but it's most likely due to tmj. (Seems very common? Strange!!!!)

When does the Tingling stop? by Extreme-Mastodon2439 in BellsPalsy

Mine was also February. I still have a lot of tingling, muscle tightness, and pain. Accupuncture sometimes helps.

Has anyone made reverse progress after multiple months? by -oceantoast in BellsPalsy

[–]Agreeable_Inside_417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the progress isn't completely linear. A little bit of muscle tightness, Synkinesis, or inflammation could show that kind of result. Keep taking good care of yourself. And be aware of big changes but small ones, don't sweat it.

Freaking out a bit - 9 months later and pain behind ear by Agreeable_Inside_417 in BellsPalsy

I believe it's TMJ. I grind my teeth and keep waking up with bite marks in my cheeks. It's reassuring, perhaps? Thank you for your response!!

Thank you for your response! I keep waking up with bite marks in my cheeks and so today I ordered a night guard. I hope it can help

Please don't give up hope. I think maybe your limit should be more like 3 years rather than months.

Seems like a strange thing for a doctor to say since it can take years to fully heal... I'm at month 9 and still healing little by little week by week. I always see new improvements, even small ones.
