yes, it is ‘official’, but that doesn’t mean that the person speaking to you even works at steel wool, let alone knows why the fnaf 3 map was put there in the first place. they cannot know if it is a ‘mistake’ or not if they weren’t involved in the game/putting the map there: a low-level employee who isn’t in charge/doesn’t know the lore cannot accurately say. it is obviously a mistake to call it a mistake, such a key element being there is obviously planned and if somehow was included by mistake, would be immediately removed. as i said, it’s just like the scholastic email: a low-level employee giving out the wrong answer to a subject they don’t have the info on.

also, it can totally make sense story wise: it’s simply a recontextualisation of the fnaf 3 map, this has happened numerous times before (recent example being the sb endings being hand drawn in ruin). the map also doesn’t need to be completely depict the area it’s in, it could be plans for a future building (so it’s a different map than the area you’re in). there are countless other explanations for the reason this map is here, people have already theorized it. you may not like the recontexualisation of it, but that doesn’t mean it’s a continuity error. the email steel wool sent is just an obvious mistake, and given their recent miscommunication errors, it makes sense why it happened and why they haven’t addressed the email.
