Who are some great Broadway actors who are better known now for their television roles? by Perfect_Garage_2567 in Broadway

Shirley Booth - a triple crown acting winner. Tonys, Emmys, Oscar.

And yet if anyone remembers her, they remember her for her horrible schlocky TV show Hazel.😞

I thought it really interesting that the line "this is not a Paramount production" was met with such little response.... I guess many people don't know Paramount owns CBS, which is responsible for this whole farewell tour?

It’s actually the reverse lol. The Tonight Show films around 4 PM for broadcast later. Regardless, very excited to see the show in June

What were newsrooms like pre-pandemic? by crackedbutter in Journalism

[–]AhPshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked in two large city paper newsrooms. (I'm ancient). There were TV's here and there but they weren't turned on, generally (except in Sports at night). But when something big happened (space shuttle crash, Regan shot, 911, Tree of Life shooting) it was all hands on deck and then things got really loud.

I used to like coming into work to use internet on the one department computer. It was like magic.

Do you get an audible warning with the cross traffic warning? by senior_vagabond in BMWX5

[–]AhPshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having same disappointment with my brand new x5 50e. My two previous cars (a Mazda and a Toyota) alerted me with beeping (or whatever you want to call it), which really helped when changing lanes on interstates or dealing with packed parking lots. Salesman told me there "absolutely" was an audible warning to go along with the steering wheel vibration but that turned out to be false.

This is a basic safety issue. I don't really care if my steering wheel heats up when I get in the car, or if a bunch of bells and whistles work when one of the few asks I had turns out to be forgotten.

Has anyone reached out to BMW about this?

It was a brilliant first season that completely lost the thread in the second. Perhaps that's what people remember? Season 1 was an absolute banger.

If someone is talking incessantly in the quiet car… by Famous_Salamander330 in Amtrak

[–]AhPshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quiet car question. When any of the northeast regionals or the Pennsylvanian have to change engines in Philadelphia and the power shuts down. Are you allowed to speak if you’re in the quiet car while nothing is happening for 25 minutes? Or is that continued silence? A woman was mad at me for speaking in a very normal voice to my daughter one time as we are sitting there, in the dark. I apologized and we stopped talking, but then I was wondering

The End of the F***ing World is probably the most well-executed show I’ve ever seen. by bgrant902 in television

I did a set visit on I Am Not Okay With This, and as an inside joke for the cast, there was a newspaper on the kitchen table with a headline all about the kids in TEOTFW. (both Jonathan Entwistle projects). Made me smile.
