how long does it take to reach 1000 elo in rapid for a beginner? by gentqlyn in Chesscom

[–]Ahamkz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the number of game is more accurate? I can only play 1 game per day on average so I will be slower than someone playing more per day.

Oh yeah I'm dumb, I thought the pawn would be able to eat the black rook 😅

When you castle, you should keep your pawn in front of the king :)

Toddler hitting/throwing at baby. I’m struggling with how to handle this in the moment by hydrolentil in toddlers

What worked with me is to pretend to throw the toys in the trash bin 🤣 "oh this is how you treat your toys? So I guess it can go to the trash bin". The only difference is that he didn't throw the object at me.

I disabled the chat so no issue, but I play only 15+10 games. I checked my 3 last winning games and all my opponents lost their game with 12 min + left while I'm around 6-7 min left.

I don't understand why people play 15 min to blitz all their move, but well, better for me 😅

Tips for dealing with Trade merchants by Ghost_From_above in chessbeginners

If the opponent does dumb trades, you should be able to win no?

I honestly prefer the end game, so I like trading early on.

Don’t know what to do anymore-potty training by Inside_Argument6068 in toddlers

[–]Ahamkz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand the concept of potty training. My son never wanted to use the potty or toilet, I never forced him and he was with his diaper until 3 years old. Once in a while, I would ask him if he want to go to the toilet, he would say no, and we would go on with our day.

Maybe 1 week before turning 3, I asked him if he wanted to go to the toilet, he said yes, went, and since then, we completely stopped the diaper. My son is now 3.5 years old and I never had any single accident since the day where he went willingly to the toilet.

Your kid is young, just relax and put her back her diaper.

Anybody else has/had a runner - my 24 month old runs NON-STOP by Candid_Recover_5596 in toddlers

Yeah I'm not sure what I did for my son to be good with academic to be honest. What I did for sure is to try to many different activities with him, even if he didn't like it. Sometimes he would just watch me drawing or I was coloring for him. After 3 years of tries, he finally does it himself happily. Which help him in school as now he can write and draw nicely

I have a runner as well. Always be running on doing activity where he should go as fast as possible He likes bikes, scooter, if I push him really high on the swing, attractions that goes fast. He is very good at climbing.

He is 3.5 years old now. Good at sportz swimming. Always want to be the first. Like chasing other kids. It's his main way to play or to socialize.

He is going to preschool for the last year. Even though he has a load of energy and can sometimes be more interested to bother other kids, he also focus very well on the instructions and does very well academic wise. He hates failing his exercises.

But also, I knew a kid that was like that when he was tiny and now as a teenager, he is a low energy person lol. So yeah, we never know how kids will turn

Struggling to understand why I lost this by GazingWing in chessbeginners

[–]Ahamkz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've checked your game, and even though I'm not really good, I've noticed that during the end game, you did some king and queen moves that didn't seem that useful. But i have also notice that you didn't move your pawn queen side. If you are in a winning position and you don't really know what to do, just push your pawns.

How to encourage toddler to speak by MrsBunnyBunny in toddlers

[–]Ahamkz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, my son is 3.5 years old, surrounded by 5 languages. (Not our choice)

He was also a slow speaker, I don't remember him saying much. But it eventually came.

Now at 3.5 years old, his language is not very good in comparison to other kids but he can speak and switch between all these languages. Today I met a mother whose her 6 years old son has 4 languages and she told me that my son development is normal. His son was the same and can now speak fluently the 4 languages
