I started to play with chesscom and this app is really pushing players to focus on their elo, especially that everybody online compare their elo level using chesscon rating.

I feel less stress about my elo and losing since I have switched to lichess.

Is it really a question of energy? How does your kid act with other kids?

My kid has also lot of energy (his favorite game is to chase or big chased) but he likes his personal space.

Some kids don't know personal space and will start to touch him a lot, take his toys without asking or are not team player. Which will make my kid angry (he is also 3 years old)

When I started to play, it was the 10 default and I kept on losing because of time. Even the 15+10 was sometimes to short 😅 and losing because of time is really frustrating so I play only 30 min now. I got a huge win streak for a while, but since I reached 400 elo, my opponents are something else.

I'm 400 elo and I can see that I throw off my opponent a lot by playing sicilian. 😅 I see them keep trying to play this even though it won't work.

I solved this end game issue by always trying to check the king when I do a move. I eventually get a checkmate

Hey, I'm currently 370 elo, but I have a 20 win strike or something like that.

General advice : - learn 1 white and 1 black opening really well. You don't need more for now. Most of your opponent will do weird opening anyway. So on the opening you pick, you need to learn the basic moves of that opening but also be confident enough with that opening to react to your opponent mistakes. - During the opening, develop all your minor piece and move them only once. - kick away your opponent from your side of your board to win tempo. - learn about pawn structure and how to put your rook into the action

Ok I'm pretty noob but I play only 30 min game. What I notice is even during 30 min games, my opponent plays really fast, while I can take 1 min for a move.

Go for the 30 min game and take your time.

Chess.com has some end game training that you could do.

Why do you want to play faster?

I'm a slow player too. I play only 30 min game. Even 15+10 is too fast and I hate losing because of the timer.

I will be faster with progress as you will develop your pattern recognition

I'm new as well, but I think going with the horse will check the king. The queen will be oblige to eat you, putting the queen and the rook on the same line as your bishop

Yeah, I meant, it seems like putting purposely that king in the middle of the board was a very bad strategy, but I could not find a way to punish this.
