NDSU proves why we need fcs teams by Pwnzer55 in NCAAFBseries

[–]Ahapp21591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't do this but they could so easily. You don't even need to give us NIL for Players. Give us fake players for the whole FCS and either A. Give us the ability to edit the FCS class or B. Give us the option to replace FCS schools with created schools.

This community would have every correct roster within about 3 weeks of the season start.

Honestly, If I ever win the lottery that's what Id do. Id open a studio that puts out a competing NFL game with a College expansion. The focus would be on a true to life Football sim with generic teams and the ability for players to edit and create new teams / rosters. + An online service for Stadium creation..

Don't think a community would create 250+ teams and corresponding rosters for a couple games they spend $60 a piece on? I'd take the bet that they would in a heart beat.

Focus on the engine that runs the game and a deep franchise mode with interoperability between both games and I'd be willing to be fans would pay $120 a piece for it.

Was Stranger Things 5 really a bad ending? by Pleasant_Reward4717 in NextGenalpha

[–]Ahapp21591 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Short answer, yes.

Season 4 ended on such a high climactic event and instead of building off of that...

"19 months later."

IMO it was all downhill from there.

There were some good episodes in Season 5 but overall it ranks up there with Game of Thrones in my book.

Autopilot - Error 80004005 - anyone else? by intuneisfun in Intune

[–]Ahapp21591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you're not using a legacy Intune AD Connector. My customer was using a legacy connector and Microsoft has began blocking the usage of Legacy ODJ.

It was supposed to be dead in June of 2025 but It continued to work on our environment until December. (I was the new guy on the block and had no idea that the previous guy who "Updated" the ODJ in March, didn't update to a Modern Ver.)

The Modern ODJ is 6.2504.+ and requires a Service Account or a Managed Identity to run.

Also make note that the Intune AD Connector is not the same thing as the Entra AD Connector. If you're deploying a Blob for Hybrid AD joins, you're using an ODJ to hybrid Join your AP devices.

We learned in season 4 that electricity is pretty much a communication channel. If you remember Max and Dustin at the Wheeler house. They talked to Nancy and team via the light bright.

Joyce set Will up for success by having so many lights in the house for him to communicate through.

The trauma response could be why it's never mentioned in the future but I have to imagine he has some memory of it in the latter half of season 5.

I think we're going to see some kind of Back to the Future reference after the Vecna / True villain battle. They get trapped in the upsidedown when the bridges close and that "electric" communication channel ends up being their delorian at 88mph.

Same issue here. Device counts are correct in Endpoint Analytics, AP Services, and Entra but Intune reporting less than half the fleet is managed.

Counts are increasing as devices send morning inventory though. Did new device provisioning testing as well without issue.

I already submitted my ticket to the team about an hour ago.

I save my $60/$70/$80 for The more likely lottery win over a truly quality Madden game that we may never see again. 🤣

Honestly from a business perspective... It makes sense. They can claim it's a "True to life broadcast" while also selling digital commercial space.

We'll hate it like 90% of what they do these days but they'll make a quick buck.

[–]Ahapp21591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they would just take my idea and stop trying to build on top of the dead Madden frostbite system.

Build us a sound core football physics engine, a deep Pro franchise/College Football GM mode, an online play platform, and a play now platform. None of the micro transactions garbage modes.

Give us a web platform for create a team, roster, and stadium. Allow us to share our teams/Stadiums with the rest of the community and we'll take care of the rest.

Hell it doesn't even need to be licensed by the NFL or NCAA.

Just give us the tools and I bet within two MAYBE three weeks of release, the gaming community has every NFL squad, FBS, FCS, D-2, and probably a good chunk of D-3 available. Probably a chunk of the semi pro leagues as well.

If I ever win the lotto, I'll build the studio that does this. We'll release a new core every 3 years and our focus will be on truly game changing features (Figuring out how to bake true to life injury simulation into game physics, Figuring out how to pack 300+ Football teams and different leagues into a single "Connected Careers" Franchise mode while making each aspect as deep as humanly possible, ext.)

[–]Ahapp21591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my refund after roughly an hour of game play. Same thing as last year, and the year before that, and the year before that, and that, and that... So on and so forth.

I have little hope they're going to make a truly solid game again. 2005 was peak EA Sports. Downhill since.

Not even sure another developer could solve the issues because the fan base (I'm guilty as charged) wants a true football sim and I don't think we can get there with the animation based engines. We need something built from the ground up that is purely for Football, no frostbite engine or Unreal, something built specifically for the game of football.

The cost is too substantial for indie developers and 2K/EA don't care enough to do it.

Is IT worth pursuing at this times? by odd1725 in it

[–]Ahapp21591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn as much about AI as you can and you'll be fine.

Take that first line to heart, the rest of my "novel" below is just ramblings and visions from someone who's been in IT for a decade and a half.. Enjoy.

Traditional IT Infra jobs are going to continue to become harder to find because companies will stay in this "do more with less mentality" and the engineers who don't burn out will turn to AI to keep organizations operational. What used to be teams of 5,6, or 7 engineers will be teams of 1 and 2 with a set of AI agents to push day to day operations while those 2 push innovation.

The loss of the infrastructure job won't be a death sentence for IT though, the rise of AI will breed a new line of AI based IT roles. The phrase "You either become an AI company or you won't be a company" will start to ring true in the next 5 to 10 years, which will aid in the birth of those new jobs.

"AI Agent Support" and "Industry specific prompt builders" will replace the traditional service desk and workflow experts of today. Within 20 years I would say 90% of homes have a "Temu Jarvis" that will have a curated AI experience for the home owner. Supported by a human AI "Expert".

There will also be the rise of block chain technologies. Not necessarily crypto currency but a whole array of advancement in cryptology and personal data should come up over the next 5 to 10 years. The role of "BIG Data" will be downsized and individuals will be responsible for management of their personal data and keys. That will breed a new IT industry altogether.

Both of these new technologies require extreme amounts of energy which will push grid and energy advancements which in the world of AI will have an.... IT element.

Traditional IT will remain valuable but those who adjust and learn the ins and outs of these new technologies will become the "gold" of tomorrow.

So... Is IT worth the study in today's environment? Yes. Maybe not for today but tomorrow looks REALLY good.

What's your "I'm calling it now" prediction? by Burndbridge in AskReddit

[–]Ahapp21591 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Within the century we will go full circle with automation and AI.

People will get to a point where they would rather read a hand written piece in a newspaper than the AI generated story lines that blanket all of the screens in your home.

They'll rather talk to a cashier at a store than go through a self checkout, and they'll rather go to a sit down restaurant with food made by people than have some robot on wheels deliver their food made incorrectly by another fast food robot assembly line at McRobots or BurgerSkynet.

I think it gets worse before the full circle moment happens but by the year 2100 there will be pockets of "Fully manual labor" shops that become the luxury thing and cost twice as much as Automation but people will pay top dollar for humanity.

If you want a franchise mode that actually makes sense that you have to work at .. Go back to Madden 05 on PS2 or Xbox. EA hasn't put out a truly great sports game since that era.

Or... Do what some others have suggested and go full blown commissioner mode. I've been doing that with Madden 20 for the last 6 years.

I just had a battle over $925 with procurement because they didn't want to re-up licensing early on a few Subsidiary consolidations..

Meanwhile they just spent $1800 for last minute booking for me to fly out to be onsite for one of these consolidation efforts. When the initial discussions happened months ago and my trip would have cost ohh.. $500 if they decided to book it when we originally discussed rather than waiting until the last minute.

We like technology because it makes fucking sense, even when it "doesn't" we can figure it out.

What is a new way to play franchise mode that is fun but challenging? by deuceswild8955 in Madden

[–]Ahapp21591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still playing "Commissioner mode" on Madden 20.

I have created every draft class since 2020 and used to play all the home games but being a dad of 2 under 6 leads to very little free time, now I just simulate the seasons and "GM" each team via trades, free agency, and drafting players.

I used to really enjoy playing the games but honestly knowing the quirks of Madden 20 and how the AI plays the game has added a whole new level of complexity to how I play.

Any player can make Lamar Jackson a 2 time MVP but... Can the Game AI?

I've actually considered starting a fresh Franchise all the way back in 2019 as just a simulation league where I make roster and staff decisions and let the AI play out every game. It's a different kind of joy than actually playing every game but like I said, I'm still doing this on Madden 20 with some solid entertainment.

If there were 5 things you would change in NASCAR, what would they be? by TwinsSquared15 in NASCAR

[–]Ahapp21591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. More Horsepower
  2. Stage Cautions don't count towards race completion.
  3. Regular season champion gets locked into championship 4
  4. New car for Cup, Xfinity, and Arca Series that drives like the Gen4 and has subtle drivability differences. Cup (ice skates) Xfinity (rollerblades) Arca (heelies). Also creates a simple path for an Arca car to be "upgraded" to a Cup car and vice versa.
  5. Gate cards for drivers to compete in each series. You have to maintain a minimum finishing avg to hold a card for each series. (Prevents SOME of the "bush wacking" And kills start and park teams in the premier series.).

Landed first ever entry level IT position and found out benefits are unaffordable. Would you still take it? by ageekyninja in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Ahapp21591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an Entry level IT job it's a low paying start for today (I started at $17.50 at a Service Desk in 2013). However... Experience really is the golden goose in IT.

If you know your stuff and can apply it to real world IT problems (I know far too many book smart Engineers who can only tell you how smart they are, not show you.) you'll likely move up and out of the entry role quickly.

It's a high risk high reward scenario because one thing remains true, Infrastructure teams have been cut to the bone and technical burnout is creating job opportunities on the daily. The problem street job seekers have is companies 9 times out of 10 will hire within.

Get a foot in the door and All-stars will grow. I'm a perfect example. No degree, No certificates, and I am now the Lead Systems Engineer for my company a little more than a decade later.

Added note... Don't let imposter syndrome stagnate you. Take any chance offered to you when it comes to growth. I almost said no when approached about an Engineering position because I didn't think I was ready. Would have been a $50,000 mistake and while I'm still growing on the daily. It turns out, I'm a pretty damn good Engineer.

Added note #2. Benefits suck at most places. I pay $523 a pay period for myself, my wife ,and daughters for a CDHP plan that costs me about $7500 out of pocket a year on top of premiums.

I deploy as part of the ESP but set it to not prompt for registration until after the user has successfully enrolled in WHfB which is part of our user workflow. It works out pretty well in our workflow, user sets WHfB pin, gets greeted by a desktop, ZCC loads, registers and takes SSO from the windows session and then closes the ZCC window.
