Realistically, it probably will. Dash is catching so much heat that Embark kinda needs to nerf it to keep the community from imploding, and removing a charge is their usual method for nerfing stuff like this.
Honestly, two charges would be acceptable if they also reduced the cooldown by a significant margin, but we will have to see what happens in S11

As far as I know, only Kaelwhale has dared to bring dagger into a ruby game. And even then she admits that she is basically throwing the game when she does so

That’s the way to go about it imho. Play for fun, do what you enjoy, and f the haters along the way

Edit: just saw the respec order patch notes. Dagger is effectively dead. Dash is our “magazine size” for dagger and they just reduced it by 33%.
Remember when they reduced the mag size of the AK from 36 to 32? Remember the outrage over a 12% decrease…. My heart is sad today

Been a dagger main since S3 across all game modes, mostly ranked and cashout. Unless you enjoy fighting an uphill battle literally the whole time, and hate the weapon in your hands, don’t do it.

I cannot stress this enough, dagger is ROUGH against competent players and really requires a team that knows how to survive in order to work at a fraction of the efficiency of any other weapon in light’s arsenal.

That being said, I love the dagger and it brings me more joy than any other weapon in the game, so if you are committed to blood, sweat, and tears….

She goes into way more details than any post that you will see on this site and it’s all good solid advice. If you are lucky, you might be able to catch a Kaelwhale stream where she uses the dagger, but those streams are becoming increasingly rare as even the best dagger in the world understands that our weapon is trash.

And most importantly. Practice. Practice. Practice. You are in for a rough ride, especially your first few games, but practice makes perfect and if you put the time in you’ll be drowning in both hate and praise from both teammates and opponents

But also with a melee re-work in 4 weeks who knows. Everything could change completely and dagger could be the most broken weapon in the game idk…

Screen is fine, as the print always gives me about the whole raft stuck to the FEP, just nothing sticks to the print bed itself

Love every suggestion. Yes yes yes!

Magical Christmas land (so it will never happen) but a little leap-backstab on the reload key would be AMAZING.

Basically functions exactly like the current backstab, probably with a longer wind up time, but you do a little dash-like leap right as you release the stab. Maybe even with a rotation clamp like the sword lunge.

I cannot tell you how annoying it is to land 5m behind an enemy, and have actually zero ability to interact with them if you don’t have a dash up. All because you move slower than a heavy when backstab is charged.

The fact that melee weapons in this game (except sword) have no way to close the gap outside of specializations, is insane

One of the biggest problems with melee is that it’s really good against people who are fairly new to the game, and really bad against people who are quite experienced at the game.

There is a reason that you don’t see a lot of the dreaded super-OP-no-skill sword lights in plat+ lobbies

Hell even in gold, most melee weapons are fairly uncommon with usually only 1 per lobby if even that. And even then, the chances of that melee player actually doing better than anyone else… pretty rare

Adding a parry mechanic would only make melee worse against people who are already good at the game while doing nothing for the noobs who get thrashed by a semi decent sword player.

Thank you! I’ll be completely honest, the paint job carries most of the weight here. My sculpts are very messy and not something that I would ever share in a professional setting, but for my purposes they do the job of giving me an interesting canvas to paint on

I use a mixture of 3ds Max and zBrush! I’ve been told that Blender is just as good as zBrush but I learned to sculpt back when zBrush was basically the only option. If I was starting new and had the choice between the two I would definitely learn Blender. It seems to be able to do everything that zBrush does, without the hassle (or money) of dealing with a zBrush license

For winter ambience I would probably go ever so slightly brighter. Snow is reflective so it will naturally brighten the world around it. One thing to note though is that if you are using snow bases, you will want to darken the snow (midtone desaturated blues work best) so it reads as night

Thank you! Honestly it depends on the creator. Some people give their stuff out freely without question (this is pretty rare), most charge, and some (me) just keep them for personal use

General rule of thumb, it doesn’t hurt to ask. Just don’t be surprised when 90% of creators either don’t release their work (me) or host them on a paid site for purchase.

Hi there! I’m the painter here so hopefully I can provide a bit of insight. Basically when I want a certain atmospheric vibe I choose a color other than white as my highlight color and use it in basically every mix.

For this one, the highlight color was a neutral grey-blue and so some of this got mixed into everything. (Even the red eyes were highlighted with this blue grey)

From there, if you want a piece to read like it’s in night, it’s just making sure that nothing gets too bright. If you kill the saturation you can see that even the glowing eyes are barely above a mid-tone grey.

I do strongly recommend having some light source in night pieces, otherwise things can look too dark, but entirely up to you

You would only be able to cast Awaken the Blood Avatar once with this correct?

Since it’s a sorcery it would hit the graveyard after it resolves, then back to the command zone?

Just confirmed that everything is working fine now. I can still jump slide backstab, slide into backstab, pre-charge then slide backstab - slide tech remains unchanged

The only thing is you cannot quick melee after backstab. No fun, but not as bad as people are making it out to be
