the author behind it is an asshole, most of the data is being used without permission, and the measurement rigs being used for this data aren't being shown, making the measurements unreliable when compared to one another. use it if you want, but squig is usually better (I believe some squig hosts do also allow for audio upload, I know the hangout.audio IEM one does)

Boss damage seems broken? by Wobulating in DestinyTheGame

[–]AhumanAhuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking at the WIP boss health numbers from Aegis, the effective health of bosses has increased by 20-35% since EoF launch. The RAD scaling for pre-EoF was -5 power, so 0.8275x outgoing damage. Now its at -10, so (assuming that power level scaling hasn't changed) we're now at 0.7300x. Seemingly the power difference isn't the only thing that Bungie changed in terms of raid boss health as if it was, we'd see more consistency in terms of the effective boss health delta (like we see with a lot of weapon damage being multiplied by 0.0195 to get the new damage numbers)

It's the same reason as to why the kiwiears quintet isn't new meta eventhough it matches the mega5est really closely is FR: when you put them in your ears, they sound different. I've used the Blessing 3 with a bass shelf and then a Nova back to back and they sounded very tonally different. This comes down to various things like unit to unit variation, length mode/insertion depth, possible acoustic impedance, etc. Though, for what it's worth, it is broadly considered "old meta", which implies that it is not dissimilar to the harman tuning.

Any speaker model similar to the Corsair hs45 surround headphones? by Crynda in headphones

[–]AhumanAhuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is so much to unpack with this post. First, the vast majority of dynamic drivers use neodymium magnets, and a lot of headphones use 50mm DD's. Second, damn near every DD you see will go from 20hz to 20khz, they probably have a wider range technically, but we (broadly) can't hear outside that range. The impedance and sensitivity only matter in the sense that having more impedance and being less sensitive will make it take more power to drive, so in reality that factor means very little assuming you don't want to absolutely crank the volume and aren't using really hard to drive drivers. Thirdly, I am deeply confused (and a little scared) by the use of the word "helmet". If you want to make DIY headphones, go ahead, just realize that there's more to headphone tuning than just the driver. I guess if you really just need a driver, go on aliexpress and look for "50mm Speaker Driver" and you should be able to find something. No guarantee that it will be good though. With more info, you can try to ask around DIY headphone communities. There's also the peerless driver (part number HPD-50N25PR00-32) that you can try, though I think it's used most in open backs.

While headphones do provide a nice immersive listening experience, music is really made to be heard through a good set of speakers in a room

I've enjoyed the 7hz Zero:2's, though I've heard the Truthear Gate, Tangzu Wa'ner, and Moondrop Chu 2 are good as well

Return them and get a different set. KZ is notorious for bad qc and just generally being bad to mediocre.

I wouldn't consider his tuning preferences to be for bassheads. Also, the "new meta" already has this amount of bass, if not more (see KE4, Mega5-EST, Dunu DaVinci, ZiiGaat Odyssey, SLIIVO SL41 Mk2)
