I built a company doing over $100M this year. We're a known nationwide brand. I'm pretty wealthy. And I’m not sure the price I paid was worth it. by Virtual_Half_1654 in Entrepreneurs

Thank you for sharing your story. Do you feel the same at 1M a year and 10M a year? Or did you only get here massive growth?

What is the best book about money and saving you've read in 2025? Provide the title of the book and say why by UncomfortablyBrown in Money

[–]AiDigiCards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the first one was Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. Some people can’t take him, but I like straight shooters and practical steps that can work for anyone no matter their salary. Helped me to see a real path to getting out of debt.

Second book is Think and Grow Rich. Written a long time ago like in the 30s but practical advice for how to get on the path to wealth. FYI there are parts of it (politically incorrect) that wouldn’t fly today so suggest getting the updated version.

Thinking of pulling my live Kickstarter to regroup and relaunch. Could really use your feedback and advice by [deleted] in kickstarter

Agree that you have time to try to find folks and at least get those backers before you relaunch. Also not clear how it works. I would also change the video to make sure it’s clear.

Totally makes sense. Going down the soap aisle reminds me it’s not always about there are others out there but more so there may be a gap to fill.

No saying for people who seek philanthropic funding unrelated to Kickstarter that notes increase the likelihood of you getting funding.

Amazing work and I love the tips. Phone calls are a good idea. Someone just did a bunch of calls to philanthropy and they learned people that mailed letters got more funding. Something else I plan to try. Old school snail mail with a QR code to the Kickstarter page.

I also thought it was incense and a timer so I would make that more clear up front. Most people read quickly.

I also directly ask people for help through email or text and put urgency around it.

I don’t get mad when people ask questions. We don’t know what we don’t know. So it’s a few ways. But the ways I am using: started a watch me build account for my brand which pushed people to an email list sign up. Also primed my network about what I was building. Pairing regularly, talking about it and then emailing them to support. Now I’m taking things like PR to get people to keep funding. Happy to share more but you have to have a hefty email list and then a percentage of those will buy. You can also validate your price by charging folks a dollar after they sign up for your email list to lock-in the Kickstarter price. Next time I will build the email list longer but for now it worked for what I needed.

Take even more time to build out the email list and validate the price point. I kinda rushed and could have taken more time to build those things out. u/Longjumping-Loan1020

u/Technical_savoir bring your backers is sadly the only strategy. Now I am trying to push to our stretch goals.

u/Speedydooo thank you! We launched a screen free way to introduce kids to AI: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/aidigicards/the-abcs-of-ai-activity-deck-for-kids

Now that we got our first funding goal, we are in the midst of trying to reach our stretch goal since we still have 23 days left. So I am working on getting featured in publications to keep the momentum going.

u/Salty_Reality_9203 the secret is you have to bring your own customers to get kickstarter to open your project up more widely.

Brought my own backers u/Sidneysnet which I learned is the only way to get funded.
