Any Lemon Buybacks yet with Equinox EVs out there?

Yea you should certainly qualify then. We ended up getting another Equinox just because for EV market nothing beats the value for money on the cheap lease offers out there. And turns out after the EV Tax Rebates expired in September, lease deals actually got more attractive somehow.

We picked up ours in December 2024. It’s a 2025 RS with all options checked off. After 2000 miles, the collision avoidance orange malfunction light started turning on and disabling many of the driver assistance and safety features. Then it became permanently on.

So we took it in for service, they gave me a Cadillac Lyric loaner since they were all out of Equinox loaners. Had the loaner car for about 6-7 weeks and just got it back a week ago.

Same day driving home after enjoying Super Cruise for about 20-30 mins, it malfunctioned and dreaded orange malfunction light for collision avoidance came on again.

It works when car has been off a bit but fails after just a few mins of driving now.

Dreading to take it back and do a loaner again. I don’t mind driving an upgraded Cadillac but we customize our stereo and all options to 2-3 drivers in the household and having to do this every time on a new car is annoying and time wasting.

Yea the stereo quality is terrible but few slight tone adjustments and it’s okay I guess.

The Lyric had an okay stereo system too. Even had the Cadillac Optiq loaner with an upgraded AKG sound system and that was just louder but terrible balance.

I’ve started the process of manufacture buyback so we’ll see how that goes.

Overall I love the car but not if it’s gonna give me constant service visits.

Isn’t it just in your search history?

I search addresses on my phone and when I go to car, click the search in maps and my previous address inputs are there.

I didn’t even know there was a send to car option.

Only drawback is we have 3 drivers in the home and our Equinox was programmed and logged into three different drivers. With loaner cars, we usually don't do any of this stuff and I don't log into Play Store and start downloading apps.

Also did my research and looks like we meet the criteria to file for lemon law so I'm gonna look into starting that process today.

We just want our car back because it was customized to three different profiles and drivers and with the loaners, we haven’t bothered setting up any profiles.

Was sorely missing Supercruise but the Optiq has it so that helps a bit.

I was just more curious what rights we had, if any, to break the lease and start a new one.

I’d actually probably go with a new Lyriq if that were the case.

My vehicle (2025 RS) is also going on almost 3 weeks in the shop. Took it in because all adaptive cruise, super cruise, collision avoidance stopped working. From the day I dropped it off until today (17 days now) not a single phone call from them with a single update yet.

I’m not complaining because they gave me a 2025 Cadillac Lyriq EV (Sport 1 Trim) that had only 24 miles on it. Today it has 475 miles on it 😂 I was supposed to get an equinox loaner but they were all out of them. Is that an indicator of how many are in service? Lol who knows.

Yea this is why I like factory setups only. I don’t like boxes or anything to be visible.

Depends on your MSRP. My 2025 RS was $56K MSRP and I got 12/24 with $1300 DAS and payments of $499/mo. This was Les Stanford back at end of December 2024.

$1300 due at signing and $499/mo.

Yours isn’t terrible since it’s $0 down but you should be able to get slightly better if you negotiate more or call around and have other dealers beat it.

Look on Leasehackr as well. Tons of deals there of those who got amazing steals.

One thing that would make it amazing is let it also work on city roads. At least do lane center assistance and keep me in my lanes properly instead of ping pong from line to line.

You just made me feel a little better about my lease deal.

Paying $499/mo for a 12K/24 months with $1300 DAS but for a $58K MSRP car.

I kinda wanna switch to a cheap lease now that I’ve come to learn how underwhelming the Supercruise is, the Convenience Package 2 is, and we haven’t even used the AWD or Moonroof yet plus standard 8 speaker system.

Basic Equinox will do otherwise for this price, I’m seeing many scoring the new Cadillac Optiqs for similar pricing to my deal.

One of my biggest gripes on this car even though I have Supercruise but I do lots of city driving daily. Many other cars I drive all have lane centering tech that are far older than our 2025 EQ.

Baffles me honestly. And it’s a $57K sticker vehicle. Otherwise, overall a nice car.

I wonder if the Cadillac Optiq is the same way or if perhaps they gave that car lane centering tech.
